The war against renewable energy

Not at night just after sunset in summer.

Your funny list above is nice, but it ignores the fact that there are still issues with EV's that need to be addressed.
Its your approach to everything regarding renewable energy.
Everything renewable = perfect.

Its not. Not yet.

In 18 months when these massive batteries are online The price of electricity will continue to fall.

There are 3.5 million homes with solar and rising, that’s 3.5 million homes that would be silly not to consider an EV.
That’s 3.5 million homes that could potentially have almost zero consumption from the grid with bidirectional charging.
That’s 3.5 million homes that will help charge these massive batteries for use at night.

Renewbles will be perfect when we no longer have to use fossil fuels and the cost of electricity will be close to nothing.

More and more people moving into apartments.
I call bullshit.
It could change the housing valuations though.
Why would you move into an apartment if its going to cost you a heap in electicity?

Electricity is now and will continue to fall in price…

Unlocking Curtailment and Feed in limits could unearth massive amounts of electricity that is currently being wasted.

SA was at 150% renewables yesterday.
I’ll be turning off my solar tomorrow because the spot price will be negative.

We need storage and it’s coming.. and EVs will be a massive part of that storage.

He's talking about the price of chinese cars in china.
Chinese internal combustion cars in China are also very cheap.
Seriously, your viking friend is smoking the environmental dope.

The Xepeng Mona 03 is coming to Aus… you can pre order now.
Can charge from 10% to 80% in under 20 minutes… 600km range.
Estimated price is under 30k AUS.

30% of Australians rent and the vast majority have landlords who don't care what they pay for electricity.
15% of Australians live in apartments and that's a fast growing stat.

And they will all benefit from falling electricity prices.
The ev’s that are coming will charge 420km range in under 20 minutes. That’s plenty for 95% of the population for a week, hardly an inconvenience and it will cost less than half the price of petrol.

Not sure about others, but I certainly could not afford a $30k car.
At the moment me either, hopefully in a year or 2, but you will be able to afford a second hand EV as these quality options bring the prices down.

The second hand EV market is almost non existent, other than cheap Nissan Leaf imports from Japan… under 15k with low range.
There is going to be an explosion in new EVs in the Australian market in the next 2 years.

Only thing stopping it is anti China sentiments and tariffs.
The US have introduced 100% tariffs on Chinese EVs and have dropped the ball on manufacturing and now are complaining that the technology is moving too fast… they need the tariffs to slow everything down so they can catch up. IDIOTS.

Mass produced electric motors are very cheap.
Batteries continue to fall in price.

We’ve been ripped off by the car Industry for years… massive mark ups, dealer fees, servicing etc…
Embrace EVs because they will be much more affordable than ICE cars and combined with a green grid will create a better society.

Apart from some time Monday and Wednesday evening/ Thursday morning we've been over 100% renewables pretty much all week.

What do you think has happened that will change any rip-offs you perceive?

Meanwhile GM and Ford almost went broke from all that ripping off. GM had to be bailed out.

The Chinese government pretty much get to choose whether their people are buying EV's or ICE's.

🤣. So the CCP knock on someone’s door and take them down to an EV dealership and force them to buy an EV? 🤣
EVs are now cheaper to buy and run.. I wonder if that has anything to do with it? 🧐

The only governments interfering with choice are those putting tariffs on EVs …. Canada, USA and the EU. Fingers crossed not Australia.

Subsidy.
Very high subsidy.
Ask yourself why cars cost $15000 in China , and double that everywhere else.

You were the one who brought up subsidies.
subsidies can work when directed in areas where it’s most needed.

OK.
Australia apply a fairly high tax to Petrol and Diesel , its included in the retail price?
It affects the vast majority of fossil fuel sales. Do you agree that is the "opposite" of a subsidy.
However this tax is not applied to farmers and some other industries.
This is not a subsidy to the fossil fuel industry , its a subsidy to the farms etc.

The fuel tax is supposed to go towards road maintenance and construction , though in reality it goes into a government slush fund. Victoria were going to tax EV's but changed their mind.

EV's are subsidised by removal of their Fringe Benefit tax, that's kind of a Clayton's subsidy because it only affects a limited part of the car buying public. ( Novated leases are around 5% of the new car market, half of the novated leases are EV's since the subsidy was introduced ).

You are kidding yourself if you think Renewable electricity is going to cost close to nothing
