I think some supporters ( i was guilty of this ) suggested that the eagles team had/has all the makings of being able to possibly, if the stars align, and everything goes perfectly, maybe be able to be a flag contender or winner for a few more years.

I know i have suggested that we have a young, talented list, a good hunger and passion about the club, and i dont see why we wont be pushing for a flag for the next..... 3 or 4 years.

Some jealous opposition supporters have interpreted this as all eagles fans are arogant, who think that they will create a dynasty for the next 10+ years and win all the flags in the next decade.

This is not so. Lots of eagles supporters merely looked at the favourable short term future ( 3-4 years ) the eagles undoubtably had, and remarked that they are quite happy about it. Some might even have got over excited and said things like...... " We're going to be unbeatable.....Watch out other team. lolz rofl........."

Obvious comparisons were also made, comparisons between the dominating midfield of both the amazing brisbane side of the 2000's and our quite good midfield, and also comparisons between the eagles years of 92'94, where lots of similar things happened. ( ie lost grand final, won a grand final, got struck by injury in the year after the grand final... ect )

Its stupid to give eagles supporters shit for saying that the eagles will create a dynasty. We may yet be remembered as a side almost, or as good as the early 2000's brisbane, or we may be remembered at the port side that followed it. Probably one of the great sides, but unfortunatly didn't manage to win more than one flag.

No matter what happens, Eagles supporters should be very happy about where the club is at, where its been at for the last 2-3 years, and also should be very happy and excited about where its going to be for the next 3 or 4 years.

I'm not saying they didnt deserve the flag, but WC are about the only team I can remember who were talking about a "dynasty" based off 1 flag by 1 point.

Sydney never mentioned "dynasty", nor port, essendon, north, and Brisbane were called a dynasty only after 3 in a row.

The 'dynasty' talk was only bought up because WCE has such a young list. All there best players are under the age of 30. Alot of them are going to get better.

People are assuming that because they have won a flag, and narrowly missed out on another one, and with the age of the list and the final expericance they have gained they will go on to win 3-4 flags. Hence creating a 'dynasy'

WCE list is going to get better before it gets worse.

Sydney was never going to be a 'dynasty' because the list was older and the best players were going to get any better.

I guess the same goes for Port. They won there first flag after finished on top of the ladder 2 years in a row. If they had has won a flag the first year people would have mentioned 'dynasty'

This is not a dynasty. I don't even know where that word came from. But the eagles will be thereabouts for the next few years atleast.

Having said that, I think 2007 is a write-off. But I am very confident 2008 onwards.

Even your own chairman says your club has a bad culture and has to be rebuilt (about the only thing he has got right in last 3 years. Godhelp us if he gets on the AFL commission).

What happened to Farmer when he ended up in court the second time? The answer of course is Fremantle didn't even suspend him for 1 game. People in glass houses shouldn't be throwing rocks.

thats not a dynasty, making grand finals continously (or being up in the mix with preliminary finals) is a dynasty, a good one to observe my little yr 1 student, try the hawks 7 grand finals in a row, not 1 grand final after 11 years.

Are you making it up as you go along or just trying to ignore the facts ?

Farmer got fined about $20,000 from club and lost about 20,000 in sponsorship for jumping on a car. Compare to Daniel Kerr, a more serious auto/assault offence. Got nothing from the club, hardly a mention in the press. Laughable if it was not so serious the difference in how one club punished their players and the other tries to sweep it under the carpet.

Sends all the wrong signals and is why WC still don't get it and the AFL may still have not got their message to WC clear enough !
