Is it true that some of his team mates were quoted as saying that he isn't well liked around the club?

Sorry Fireman... you're a shocker on this one mate.

1st) You argue that just because Tredrea did well on the field he is still a **** off the field.

2nd) now you're asking "is it true ... he isn't well liked at the club"... so basically you're not even sure yourself if he is a **** off the field.

3rd) As others have mentioned the article was a BS piece with no substance. Sure Tredrea might have not seen eye to eye with 1 or 2 players (Nick Stevens and Brett Montgomery) but that happens all the time in clubs/teams. Yes he lost the vote for Captaincy to Primus... but in a 2 horse race someone loses.

As for people whinging about the 2 goal celebrations: the bow and the phone call... they fall into the category of tall poppy cutters. Personally AFL needs some character re-installed into it. I applaud any good taste celebrations or infusion of character into the game... it rezzes up the crowd and makes the atmosphere better IMO. Akermanis, Mark Williams (Haw), Cornes, Tredders (when he is pumped), Spider Everrett... and I loved the antics of Dipper, Jacko, Dermie, Andrew Jarman, and so on.

If you are going to crucify Tredrea for 2 goal celebrations then you need to get out and enjoy life a bit more.

Buckley's a great example - I think most Non Collingwood supporters thought he was an arrogant tosser on the football field and throughout his playing days - most people believed in the FIGJAM story. Now that he is in the media and comes across as a thoughtful and intelligent, as well as putting out a book on his life story, a lot of people's perceptions of him have changed. Perception and Reality - 2 very different things a lot of the time.
To a point. Some of the Buckley criticisms were warranted at times. He started a poor captain and ended up a good captain because he learnt from his mistakes. I always said he was made captain too early. I don’t know if he was arrogant but he was most certainly very driven and ultra competitive.

Sometimes perception and reality are quite different, sometimes the lines are blurred and sometimes everything you ever thought about Wayne Carey was understated.

Tredrea should have been a Collingwood player in which case I might well think differently but that article reeks of image rectification by an agent. It may well be coincidental that it coincides with the approach of the need for a new career but it looks for all the world like tried and tested management advise.

BTW, what do you think of Eddie the humanitarian?

I'm not at all a Tredrea hater. I respect what he's achieved over his career and haven't forgotten how dominant he was only a few years ago.

But ****ing hell that was a cheesy article.

Why would Geof Motley bother, especially now when his client is 30 and three years past the superstar he was (when his 'image' was in the most need of rectifying it seems)?

It's a puff piece sure, but no different to others you see in a quiet offseason.

Yep. He is a certified nutter. The same nutter the morons on their board celebrated as being some sort of saviour who would signal the end of Hinkley when appointed to their board. How has that gone? 😆

Lets keep in mind this is a bloke who apparently follows people like Andrew Tate.
Imagine being a woman associated with that club knowing that one of the board members follows Andrew Tate?

He is a fruit loop of the highest order and one of those people who thinks he’s intelligent when he speaks because he does so aggressively and intensely (any conversation) but is just a mentally bereft bogan.

But yeah Port fans he’s your saviour 😆 shut down any negative discussion about him on your board…. yet you call people associated with Hinkley a ‘cult’.
