Our MG ZST (22) was $800 last year.

My wife was involved in a car accident last week - not at fault - and despite it not being her fault the premium seems to take it into accout.

For our new Hyundai Tucson Highlander (top of the range model, $53,000), I am getting quotes from $1600 - $1950. I don't understand. Aren't new cars meant to be insured cheaper?

When we first got the MG, first year I paid just over $700 (car was $32,000).

I am paying about $1300 for my 2017 i30.

Yikes, now I’m thankful not to drive expensive cars. The most I’ve ever paid for a car is $8000 for my second-hand Honda. Perfectly reliable, does the job.
Same, cars are a waste of money imo. My 2006 commodore still runs perfectly (knock on wood), serviced it 3x in 8 years so save money there! Likely to bugger off insurance altogether soon and rely on 3rd party from rego. Barely be able to sell it for 2k, not much use insuring it lol.
