Thats the best one - dont have to be young either - still do the same thing but in bed by midnight (rather than 4am) and no really bad hangovers

Camping is shit.

Roughing it to me is a 2-3 star hotel.

And even 2 star aint that bad, i stayed in 2 star in Paris. It was fine.

Camping is great, staying in accomodation is great. Caravanning is kind of a shitty middle ground. Unless you get a really expensive one they are pretty limited to where you can go and how long you can be off the grid.

My gf has some friends who have a caravan they say we can borrow. Tempted to give it a shot this summer somewhere but just us two and not with kids (they all wouldnt fit anyway).

It's more comfortable, but you are towing 2 tonnes of stuff rather than some rolled up canvas that weighs a few kilos.

I'd rather just stay in a motel a few nights a year and save the $20k or whatever buying one.

I'd sell. If I had a family with young kids I'd consider keeping depending on what type it was. But we had one when I was a kid and I didn't love it.
