Triggering Tiger falling into the debate of boot brands with Groupie_

Technical Difficulties Error GIF
I couldn't care less what brand he wears, i just want possies and goals from him. If groupie has an issue with shoe brands that's not my problem.

Good luck this Friday guys should be a cracker, two good sides desperate for a win. Really worried about our defensive stock and if the weather stays dry your taller forwards could have a field day as Rampe is the only competent healthy defender on our list. You guys reckon someone like Dusty or Graham will get thrown forward more than usual to further exploit the Swans here?
Dusty has been playing nearly exclusively forward already and Graham did a hammy last week so he's out. I think Cumberland and Dusty as the two you need to worry about.

Will Rampe take Jack or Dusty?

I woke up this morning all excited after a CRAZY dream. This is going to sound radical, maybe even ridiculous but I reckon it could work.

Bear with me Tiger fans...

Ok so with all our injuries, particularly to our talls, I believe the best thing would be to go with a small forward line. Yep, just ONE tall forward. Jack R one out, if he doesn't mark it he brings the ball to ground. I can hear you saying already it wouldn't work in a million years but hang on !

Then, the plan is to have a group of fleet footed small forwards buzzing around, applying pressure, keeping the ball in our half and kicking the odd amazing goal ! We have the cattle MRJ, Mansell, Cumbo etc

On top of that we have Dusty being Dusty (just let him play where he feels most dangerous), Shai being Shai (just let him be himself), Sonsie, Clarke and Cotch types delivering the ball into Jack. All Jack has to do it mark it and slot the goal or bring it down to the little fellas to go wild ! It's such a great plan !

The key to this will be even more radical...wait for it...we use a midfielder to 2nd ruck !! I know it sounds cray cray but hear me out. Someone like Marlion or Kamdyn could give our solo ruckman a chop out for 5-10mins a quarter. Yes it will look ridiculous seeing a six footer go up against Mason Cox or Jarrod Witts but people won't laugh as much when we win ! It also means we have an extra midfielder helping us keep pressure around the ball and create an outnumber. Do you see ??

Here's the other thing, we LET the other team get the ball. I know, I know it will never work but this is why, because we then get the ball BACK off a turnover ! Yep !

By now you probably think I'm nuttier than a jar of um peanut butter but my guess is that turnovers are going to be the hottest thing in football. I usually have a sixth sense about these things. (I once helped the Harlem Globetrotters when they had a crisis of confidence and look how that turned out ! Now they really look like that have lots of confidence !)

Our all-over-the-ground pressure (because we have more midfielders now than the oppos still labouring with a 6'10" second ruckman) put on so much pressure that our half backline gets easy turnover after easy turnover!

It doesn't end there tho. We then run in numbers like a tidal wave, no hang on a tidal SURGE and force the ball forward NO MATTER WHAT! Knock ons, tap ons, diving lunges and lots and lots of forward handballs and hacked kicks, anything to keep the ball moving forward. I'm pretty sure this will end up in a bombardment of goals for us and simply devastate the other teams.

They won't know what hit them and they won't know what to do ! The AFL will be SO HAPPY with us for evolving football into a beautiful spectacle ! We may even get a special prize from Gil for saving our precious game and making it more enjoyable to watch. Many many fans will jump on our bandwagon because we are so pretty to watch.

Sigh, I'm so excited ! Can you imagine how much the football world will embrace us ! All we need is a coach with the courage of his convictions to turn this big man injury adversity into massive positivism.

It's probably going to need a shake up between the ears, some real forward thinking and we'll need the entire club to support it from the president, the board and the CEO right down to the boot studder to get behind it. Maybe even get some club psychs in there to get the players getting their minds right to play a style of footy that looks at what a player CAN do, not what a player CAN'T.

Imagine that. They will write books about it some day...

Only one problem ……..

SsssssssssStttttaaaaaaaaaaannnnnnnndddddddddddddd!!!

Don't want jack in. He's a liability. Id bring in Bauer and Miller and out of those and balta play two forward and one back. Cumbo, Clarke and Sonsie cannot be dropped. All 3 are best 22 locks.

I watched the 2nd quarter from the weekend earlier today to get an understanding of what we actually did well.
  1. This is obvious, but we got ascendency from centre bounce. Taranto had three centre clearances, which was the most of anyone for that quarter. The only other two that won a centre clearance that quarter was Ryan and Hopper, both only with one.
  2. When we kicked to a contest we were able to halve the contest on most occasions and bring the ball to ground where we had extra numbers.
  3. Our kids stepped up. Now, I know fantasy points are not the clearest indication on a players impact at any point in time, but just on raw numbers our top three point scores for that quarter were Cumberland, Mansell and Ralphsmith. Judson Clarke had 8 bloody pressure acts, followed by Mansell, Taranto and Hopper all with 6. As an aside, I still don't forgive Baker for not giving the hands to Sonsie on the outside toward the end of that quarter. Gotta use him there.
  4. We were CLEAN! Disposal efficiency was noticeably much better and it reflected in the stats. I swear the majority of our issues would be solved if we just found a way to keep our disposal crispy but obviously its easier said than done. In our previous games, we had a fumbling epidemic. So many double grabs etc which just invites pressure.
  5. We weren't super predictable with our ball movement. We had a healthy diversity when transitioning the ball into our F50. We always moved it with speed, but importantly we were happy to go down the line, cut back into the corridor, exclusively use the corridor, switch play and even go backwards when it made sense to.
  6. A lot of teams like to flood against us, it's absolutely excruciating to watch sometimes. The way we played in that quarter didn't really allow the Dogs to set up that flood efficiently. We also mixed our entries up a fair bit by lowering the eyes on a couple of occasions.
I'm less worried about Lynch not playing for the foreseeable future because it's going to force our mids and high half forwards to be a bit more creative when kicking inside 50. We had a knack to just kick it on Tom's head which led to him being double or triple teamed at times.
In the first few games it was noticeable how stagnant our forward line is. With Lynch going out, I fully expect more leading to happen which I think can only lead to positive results.

I'm proud to say it's not in Richmond DNA to tank. We will keep fighting hard. Unlike Dees and Blues who tanked all those years ago for the Kruezer Cup and got all those high draft concessions year after year to get them to where they are now. Wonder how many Dees/Blues fans would admit this well known fact
Tank ?

****ing tank.

We might yet win it.
