You are not to informed are you? he has been quoted a few times he wants to be home close to family with his kids.
Irregardless of his reasons, he has picked his team and like the players who selected Bulldogs their teams aren't telling them they will trade them to any team in Melbourne are they?

Imagine if this deal gets done quietly and efficiently by lunchtime today. It'll be like this whole thread was for nothing!

Too bad that'll never happen.

A poster on our board brought attention to a line in the Herald Sun live trade blog about Kelly.

He isn't even interested in meeting with them, let alone playing for them.

"The Dockers have offered to have new coach Justin Longmuir speak to Tim Kelly as he tries to get to the Eagles but as yet have been rebuffed."

What team would use a top 10 draft pick to get a player who has said repeatedly he does not want to go there?

Boggles the mind that people would think a club would waste a pick like that.

But hey it is Freo after all.
Worked for Carlton with Nick Stevens. Hardly a waste. However, offering it in a *trade* scenario isn't relevant, certainly not at this point.

Nick Stevens was pick 2 in the pre-season draft.

Nowhere near the same league as a top 10 national draft pick which is what the OP was on about.

Let’s cut to the trace, Kelly hates being in a Dale Alcock Home.

How hard was it for him to say that ?!!!.

Seriously, if he wants to go to Eagles, so be it. Eagles will pay for him to come, it is just the price to be decided. Freo have pitched their deal, if Kelly prefers another deal, so be it.

If a house collapses are you in the home or are you around it?

If a trade can't be worked out I reckon Kelly would rather go to GC than stay in Geelong where they treat him like s**t
I think he would rather go to whoever that draft him, Adelaide, Melbourne, Fremantle. You use GC just for ego stroking. if I am Eagles list manager I rather look at different way to get the deal done. other club don't even know he is available in this year draft until trade period end.

Yes, but my point was that a player was forced to go to a club who he didn't really want to go to, but still put in a good shift and played very well for them. It's hardly as though he just sat on his arse for two years and then forced a trade to Collingwood.

Anyway, for all that, I doubt that Freo is relevant here. Both clubs are motivated to get this done - West Coast to shore up the list before the premiership window absolutely slams shut, Geelong to get a trade return before the player walks. It'll take forever, but it'll get done IMO.

If a trade cant be worked out the Eagles could trade for a draft pick higher than six and pick him up in the draft. Then Geelong get nothing.

How have Geelong treated him like s**t?
What evidence is there he's been treated poorly?
Geelong looking for value from him and having him honour his contract isn't close to 'treating him like s**t'.

The original post was over the top, in saying that there are also some murmurs that Tim Kelly is extremely unhappy with how Geelong has gone about managing his trade request in 2019.

Have you ever bought or sold a house mate - the seller wants 800k - but the buyer only wants to pay low 700s - they both want the very best deal to suit themselves

It's not like that though, because sellers don't know how much money a buyer can borrow.
So there is a bit of cat and mouse trying to work out a good deal, that can be achieved.

In the case of this trade, Geelong know we don't have 2 top 10 picks, but have still asked for it (fair enough).

For your scenario, it's a bit like a seller knowing the buyer can only borrow $700k and saying they'll only accept $800k (i.e. they don't want to sell to them).
