Out - Mckintosh - sorry, running in mud
CJ - needs another rest
Harris - becoming lazy

In - Goldstein - fit and agile
Ross - needs another chance
Sinclair - gutsy

I tend to agree, as much as I like the big H, he's struggling fitness-wise and is far too slow and not as agile as the other three big men. Would probably rather have Thommo put in over Goldy given Hale and Petrie can do the ruckwork. Corey Jones is probably carrying an injury, but he's out of touch.
I'd be happy to see Riggio, Lower, Sinclair, Ross or Swallow get a run given we've been smashed in contested possessions. Harris may be dropped, barely heard his name mentioned. Also, Power should be dropped for letting Burgoyne get 45 touches. I'd favour Riggio or Ross simply because they use the ball well and give us some run.

Just hope whoever plays is switched on.

I'm 100% against going into the finals making wholesale changes.

I'd like to see Ross and/or Lower come into the team for some run.

Edwards needs another run... Hamish may need to move aside and look at regaining his fitness for next year.

Jones and Harro stay. Their futures may be questionable but you can't change the fabric of the team that qualified for the finals in the first final. It causes too much instability at the wrong time.

So... McIntosh (surplus to requirements) out for Ross.

Seriously, Watt cost us 5 goals in the first half alone and I got smashed at half time to block out the second half, when he is good he is good, when is not good he is woeful.

I am just scared he will not be good and the damage it will cause.

No chance of being dropped....Only guy close to same build as Barry Hall so if at worst will be kept as a 2nd stringer....

I prey Dean doesn't waste Drew on Hall and puts him as first ruck to have a massive influence on the game....

So if he leaks goals every game, your saying he should be kept in the side for the pure fact he is the right body size?

**** that, you leak goals and dont add anything else, get out. Not saying Shannon leaks every game (eww), but he has over the last month.

I'm sorry but I thought you wanted to `beat' Sydney not lose by 10 goals.

We need RUN, RUN & More RUN.

OUT - Watt, Hamish & Edwards (& Harding)
IN - Lower, Sinclair, Ross & Grima or any other decent running player we have.

I'd bring in N Thompson(replace Edwards), Goldstein(replace McIntosh), Sinclair(replace Harding) and Ross(replace Watt).

Move Goldy to #1 ruck.
Move Petrie to Hall.
Move Thompson to FP (lead out while Hale stays near goal)
Stick Hansen at CHF to run out and be a link man in the middle, Thommo to use the vacated corridor and if it's congest bang it fast to Hale.

If things don't work then move Goldy up forward and move Hansen into defense on a tall, move Petrie in the ruck, move Firrito on Hall.

My problem with Edwards, McIntosh and Watt is due to a lack of conditioning due to injuries or just generally speaking for Watt, if things aren't working I don't see much of a Plan B with them.

No way should Petrie be started on Hall. We need to go out and try to win the game, using our strengths. Petrie should be in the ruck, and then run around the ground - dropping into the hole in front of Hall if need be, but also pushing forwards.

A forward line with Hansen/Thommo/Hale -> I just see the ball going straight back the other way as soon as it hits the ground. Hansen is terrible when the ball is below his knees, and the other two aren't exactly quick.

If we are to win, it will be the midfield battle and clearances that matter. It really doesn't matter who is on Hall if they get the ball down to him quickly, and have him one out with a defender.

Watt only hurts us with his errors when he plays deep in defence e.g. Full Back. If he plays further up the ground he seems to play ok. We just need to make sure that Sydney doesnt keep putting his opponent in the goalsquare.

Pretty spot on there. Mid-field is where it is always won. How many more days of people posting their wants of midfielders in the place of Macintosh, Edwards etc.?

Goodes will almost certainly be back, and played as a forward. He's far from fully fit but showed a few weeks ago he's more than capable of kicking a bag of goals, particularly if the opposition is focussed on double or triple teaming Hall.

Who's your best option to play in defence on Goodes?

Has to be Watt on Goodes. There's no one else fast enough.

Best player to put on Goodes if playing forward eh?

Someone that can match him for athleticism, speed and strength...probably Firrito though I personally would rather playing attacking footy up the ground.

Laids might employ this match up and tell Firrito to run off him as much as possible to draw him up the ground. Firrito can be a very damaging rebounder.

The other option is probably Hansen. If this happens, it will be a good learning experience. I would also instruct Hansen to stream off him up the ground whenever possible.

I wonder if Sansburys will be brought in to do a job on the Irish Man?

It's unusual for this site to be bagging Watt after a loss or thrashing. I have been coming on since 2002 and rarely see any criticism of him.......

It's been the same the past 6 years....smashed in the midfield, leads to a smashing in defence whether it be Watt, Firito, Archer whoever.

Keep Watt in.

Out has to be Edwards and MCintosh.

I thought Sinclairs form was good.

And I liked what I saw of Goldstein.

We seem short on another tall forward to create opps for the crumbing forwards the past two games. So Thommo in, with Hale....and the crumbers need to be front and square.

I think we will win. The doomsdayers that have been punching the keys since last Saturday's abysmal effort will be back on here Sunday saying how good JYD is blah blah blah until the next defeat whereby someone will suggest that Shannon Watt was the cause of our loss...now that would be unusual.

Go Roos!

Gaso

I think we will win comfortably whoever the selection's are. I like those^

Don't discount Watt. Goodes runs around a lot. Watt is quite a good runner.
Have him tag Goodes. Sure, Goodes might kick a few goals, but that frees up Petrie to do some real damage around the ground.
