Yes.Hawthorn isn't the swans, they've been paying overs in most trades for sometime i.e. Wingard and JOM come to mind. What were the swans prepared to offer WC for a year younger less banged-up Barrass last off-season? I suspect it wouldn't involved the swans first rounder let alone anything more than that.
This won't be a Franklin situation where Hawthorn had to hand over the most valuable player in the competition to a club playing under a different salary cap and exclusive rules not open to other teams. Gotta think Hawthorn will make a fair offer for a 29 year old but will not cave into the exorbitant trade demands being posted in this thread by WC posters.
Franklin was a FA, Barrass is contracted for 3 more years
