What is the reason both Sydney and Gcs giving up players whatever blues think is fair. You want the players you go and find the pick. Sooner or later you want to use pick 8 for Butler, papley, Darcy Cameron, Shai Bolton, Martin in one go.
Papley is worth a deal involving our pick 8.
Martin is not.
We also have next years first to use in trades.

The equation is simple. It's Carlton or Sydney for Papley next season. There take on the Blues board and elsewhere is that The Blues are very confident we will get our man..
Papley hasn't said he wants to go and he still has 4 years left. If someone wants him then they will have to prize him out with a good offer for him as well as a great deal for the club. Completely different to Mitchell.

The guy is contracted, a damaging player in a position we're desperate for and by all accounts a leader. I'd happily pay pick 8 for him.

I think pick 8 is a fair value for him, anything less if I am Sydney I keep him, why make the other club stronger and accept crap pick when he still have 4 year contract to run. I would let Martin go ND draft too and see he last to Carlton pick 8 in this year draft.

There is genuine interest from the Swans in Weitering & it is an established player & not a pick we are after which is why the Blues are confident of landing Paps as well as Martin.

If you're after a key defender as a sweetener - you can have Harry Macreadie.
He was a GWS academy player and is from NSW.
How do you not know Weitering is a key position backman is a question that comes to mind.

Weitering will be a Swan as part of the Papley deal.
All sorts of questions are being asked by the Swans. We are in a super position with Paps as he is more than happy to stay.
This is Ryan O'Keefe, who was contracted, all over again & you & Hawthorn let that opportunity slip. We were after a player in that deal & you both didn't budge.

I'm just throwing in some info I've heard to put some balance on what could really be happening in these discussions.
It's not one way traffic to Carlton here with Papley being a heavily contracted player.
