I feel like the Swans have a strong history at getting players to the club of their choice. Since O'Keefe in 2008, I can't think of one player who's wanted to leave the Swans and hasn't been able to get there. If the Swans are asking for more than pick #9, then they're probably over valuing Papley's worth, but I would have thought for Carlton- pick #9 for a player of Papley's age and class would be an absolute no-brainer.

It sounds like the Swans are wanting more than pick 9, whilst Carlton are wanting something back, in the end I don’t think Carlton will haggle to hard to get something back but will be reluctant to add extras on top of pick 9.

Love it. Just a bevy of second round draft picks who pop up and kick 30+ goals a year. Happens all the time. We should keep 9. Must be able to get 40-50 out of that pick.

I don't think we have any problems paying the price...it'll be pick 9 +/- a few bits and pieces. The whole deal rests on the Swans relenting...and that's starting to look less likely.

For the same reason dodoro isn't letting go of Daniher, they want a player to replace them with and for Sydney Daniher is that man.

They can then pick up a Sam Gray for nothing and be miles Infront.

This trade works, then it's 25+43 for Martin which values him.around pick 16 so GC can tell everyone they got the equivalent of a 1st round pick for him.

5+9 for Daniher + future 2nd should finish off both trades.

I think if Melbourne genuinely offer pick 8 and 8 alone, it'll only force Carlton to go at it with 9 alone. I doubt Melbourne will end up snaring him.
