I think it will be pick 8 and a second if Papley requests, pick 8 + another first if clubs are desperate and want to prise Papley out.
Looks a bit like Gibbs trade scenario in 2017 to me, he was happy to stay and Carlton duely asked for overs to even consider the offer. If clubs are desperate they'll pay overs to get Papley.

I don't think Papley is good enough for clubs to get "desperate" over to be honest. He'd be a nice get if he demands an exit but there are better players in his role and better players overs will shake out of clubs. Gibbs is a bit different because Adelaide coveted him from his draft year.

Agreed, he'll get traded for overs only if a club thinks he is vital to what they lack in forward line presently.

It's a fair bit to raffle. I wouldn't begrudge them starting the bidding at two first rounders but come the end of the window if a deal isn't done a lot depends on how much Papley would want to leave. I'm of the opinion saying that the topic probably won't come up.

He's worth way more to them than a first rounder to be honest. Sydney are not flush with elite pressure, goal kicking smalls.
honesly, 1st rounder for papley is way over. There are substitutes for him that can come very cheaply through draft, delisted free agency and matured age rookie. Zac jones for a 1st rounder yes. There are plenty of gems in this years trade. We north need to be specific about players. We should get amon and ah chee with 3rd and 3rd of next year. Papley 2 x second rounder (2019, 2020). Jones would require a 1st. Of course woods could be added to get a pick or two back.

This post has me baffled. Papley is worth more than Jones, quite comfortably.
The value some people place on draft picks is insane. If you spent pick 6-10 and ended up with a player like Papley for 10 years you’d be stoked.
What we know, contracted for another four years, in the leadership group, happy to continue playing football where both his grandfathers played and hasn't requested a trade at his exit interview.

I agree. But only if you had the rest of your list in order ie Spine and mids. I think we do, so i would gladly pay our Pick 8 for Papley.
It is absolute top dollar for a small forward normally but Paps is contracted and in a leadership group at a youngish age and can pinch hit through the midfield too so he is worth that.
If you land Joe or someone else you might be targeting i think this gets done. If you don't, then maybe not. But Papley is at peak value right now for the Swans. Stay, and you'll be happy. And trade and you'll be happy with the return.

The kangas first pick and wood seems about fair for papley and a second pick going back
Not really , Any team would be over the moon to pickup a player like Papley if they were holding pick #8 in the draft
23 year old and has the best years ahead of him and pick #8 could be the next Tambling/or Conca

Nah, not when Swans can keep him for another 4 years. you are underrating what Papley offers to Swans forward line, they'll be worse off trading him.
Wood is not worth a first round pick, so Swans could easily ask for 2 firsts for Papley and a third. That would be the point where they might even start considering this trade. Something over the top, outrageous.

We've not really been linked to him with any real tangibility bar a few "and North" tack ons, most of the talk comes from Facebook pages. Saying that, and it's been noticed by a few on the North board, we've not really been linked to anybody which means either we're not looking to spend what's left of the old "warchest" this year or the loose lips that put us forefront of the Kelly/Dusty/Gaff headlines have been told to shut the **** up and our business is being done in house now.
