Pentangle of doom.
Add in Lord when Fantasia gets injured, hectangle of doom.
Add in Teakle if Rioli gets done for dope, septangle of doom.
Replace 178cm Fantasia with 197cm Lord.
Replace 175cm Rioli with 204cm Teakle.

What is this madness?

Only enough room for one big cummer in the forward line m8

who would he displace?
Dixon, Finlayson, Marshall, MG ?

Finlayson I imagine is on leave. More important things in life. That’s the swap. Personally I do him in for Dixon as well but that’s not happening ( yet )

If Scully were a top five pick along the lines of the King brothers we would have no hesitation in developing at afl level from day 1.

This is of course if he continues to develop preseason. He can take a mark and he kicks straight all he needs is the work ethic and IQ.

Port have always done it.

Im saying he sounds a more pressing need/better benefits to playing CHB than Lord.
Except for Todd Marshall, who we largely kept forward.

Funnily enough, can you list the competent tall forwards we have developed at Port in the last 18 years?

I can: Todd Marshall.

Finlayson has improved since coming to Port and there was that Richmond discard Jay Schulz who also turned out OK for us.

GWS and the Gold Coast probably took every half decent tall prospect in the draft for about 10 to go with that.

We can develop talls ok I think it's not like any of our duds go on to decent careers elsewhere.

Josh Carr in the press conference impressed with Scully (comment regarding Scully in the video starts at 7:13)
"he has been impressive, he presents at the ball, obviously over 200cm, he's hard to defend as a tall guy"
Mentioned he's getting better every week training with the AFL players
Some real positives for our Dixon replacement in the near future.

Jeremy Finlayson kicked 44 goals in a season at GWS. I'm not sure he should be used as your example.

Well there’s that but he is a better player here.
Point is we can develop players who have the athletic ability and the football IQ given the opportunity. I’ll argue we didn’t stuff John Butcher up.

IMO we do no worse, and no better than any other club. Reality is that we have very rarely targeted high-end KPP talent in the draft. Some clubs have targeted talls in the top-10, others like Geelong have scored with elite father/sons, and others have spent big on trading them in. In the last 10 years, we failed with Butcher, traded in Schulz and Dixon, and have taken Marshall as a first rounder - who looks like he will be top-end KPF. Other than that we have taken pot-luck with the dregs from later draft picks, with a few hit & misses.

Overall, for what we have put in, we have done quite well IMO

And by doesn't quite, you mean the entire action is guiding the ball away from the boot and then dropping it.

I'm sure he's a good kick, but it leaves very little room for error.

It's interesting to watch his highlights package and notice how well he uses his left foot having a snap. That takes better than average eye to hand to foot co-ordination particularly for a guy his size. Amphibious players are generally accurate.

I would do something about that hair cut through he'd look better with it short maybe add sideburns at a later date?

I bet he's a great swimmer too

I'm assuming he was just giving the ball a tonk to get extra distance with that particular kick, but I agree from a genuine set shot situation in a game the ball drop would need to be a bit tidier, particularly on a windy day.
There is a lot of fluid motion as he moves in but he is keeping balance and is not tensed up in the back and shoulders like a lot of poorly coached kickers. At the point he drops the ball its all inperfect alignment. Being 203 or more cm its bound to come from a fair height and in windy conditions his accuracy will suffer because of it but he's been the most accurate shot for goal at practice and in match similation when i've been there. Even better than Marshall.

Actually just going back to his highlight package I'm trying to think of the last time we had a right sided forward who could use his left foot?

Wazza the obvious one but don't think I've seen another since take a snap on their left?
