List Mgmt. Trade: Allen Christensen traded to Brisbane in exchange for National Draft selection no. 21

I sincerely hope Geelong stays out of this 5 way deal. If we end up with picks 30 & 48 for Christensen then we have lost big time. Pick 21 is a good return, especially if Greenwood is worth pick 25 then Bundy is comparable in value. I'm feeling nervous we're going to get reamed by Collingwood & Brisbane here
The other variable here is the difference between Varcoe, Lumumba and Clark. I think we'd probably agree that Clark - by virtue of being a key forward - holds the highest value of the three, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Bundy and Varcoe out, 21 and 48 plus Clark in works ok for me given the circumstances.

The proposed five-way trade;

Collingwood:
IN: Pick 5, 21, 25 (on traded), Levi Greenwood, Travis Varcoe, Jack Crisp
OUT: Dayne Beams, Heritier Lumumba, pick 25, 30 + 48

BRISBANE:
IN: Dayne Beams, Allen Christensen
OUT: Pick 5, 21, 25, Jack Crisp

MELBOURNE:
IN: Heritier Lumumba
OUT: Mitch Clark

NORTH MELBOURNE:
IN: Pick 25
OUT: Levi Greenwood

GEELONG:
IN: Mitch Clark, Pick 30 & 48
OUT: Travis Varcoe, Allen Christensen

If this goes through I will eat my hat. The longer this goes on the more pick 21 looks like a blessing.
Hope they lock in Bundy for pick 21 asap otherwise I can feel us getting stitched up something shocking.
This is unforgivable and unacceptable at every level - I'd rather let Bundy go in the draft and stuff up the Pie's windfall

Know a guy who plays for St. Joeys and is a close friend of Alan. Is getting $450 k per year, is being offered a massive deal.

About the same deal he was offered here... $400K plus Austin Group work of about $50K...
He just wanted to turn to a new chapter in the "Book of Bundy"...
And good on him... If that is what he believes is in his best interests...

Tend to agree , particularly if we get Connor Blakeley at pick 21 as some are touting. Would be very pleased with that :thumbsu:

It is a good draft, and I'm fairly confident we will gain a good player out of it. The issue is, for mine, that the player we eventually
get may not get to Bundy's level now, or presumed level that he will develop into. I agree the second point is a hypothetical, however,
he has a massive upside.

I think the behavioural aspect, where he blindsided the club after having a contract discussion previously and agreeing to some extent,
is what leaves a bad taste in everyone's mouth.

That said, will be happy to move on from this and Bundy has his life playing in the sun. I hope it doesn't last long.

Hopefully this can alleviate some of the pain. Mitch Clark in action. Hopefully he can get back to this. Tomahawk, Clark, Vardy all fit and firing up forward. Me likes :D

My understanding is that this was what Collingwood was pushing last week but it fell down because Geelong wouldn't accept anything other than pick 21 for Bundy. Like I said above pick 30 & 48 is a huge loss for us. Greenwood (for pick 25) is of comparable value to Bundy, so pick 21 is right for him. I don't blame Collingwood for trying though, but Balme needs to tell them to get ****ed. But I can't help feeling nervous here.

I'd be very wary of believing anything from that facebook or twitter page, its clearly just run by a young bloke or a nuffie who reads stuff on bigfooty and posts anything they find....

and people seem to believe it as gospel

Definitely loves a goal, good left and right foot snaps too. Very good set shot as some of those at KP would have been tough. And he is extremely mobile, good coverage across the ground which is going to be good for us. He is prepared to get on his bike, which would allow Hawkins to stay at home deep.
He will make a difference this year for sure.

If his feet and mind can stay right.

Not saying I believe it's true but if it is the case I'd be spewing if that's what we ended up with.

I heard similar to BlakeyNoFlakey
That Collingwood were pushing this to get 21 but Geelong didn't want a bar of it. Just hoping they hold their ground and don't accept the 30 & 48 to ensure the Clark deal gets through.

EDIT: The vibe from other posters here suggests 21 is a done deal.

We're beginning to be known as a soft touch during trade period.

that has to change if true. We are on the edge as a footy club and can't afford to play the nice guy while the teams below us scoop up all the best talent from the drafts, and have done so for the last 4 years now.
If this was 8 years ago, before the franchise clubs, free agency then it's sweet but not when we are re-building and need to have the best chances of drafting in a successful players.

From reports the hold up with Clark is that Collingwood can't afford Varcoe until Beams leaves. Once Beams is resolved, then the three way can take place with Geelong and Melb.
FFS Collingwood. They do not care about the welfare of their players. Just accept a deal for Beams and

Disappointed he didn't insist on a fair deal as part of the deal after all we've done for him. We're beginning to be known as a soft touch during trade period.

I said before the trade period that we were too kind and accommodating during trade period, and was howled down by the masses for having such an opinion.

And then this happens.

I dare suggest that if or when we get 21 we will hang it out there for the remainder of trade period and see what offers we can get with it. A more mature aged player to replace Bundy perhaps ?
