I don't blame Bundy for wanting out of Geelong due to the town. As I have said elsewhere, the infrastructure and speed limits are a joke. It's borderline feeling isolated due to travel. VicRoads and their archaic, twisted idea of what is ideal for the population who drive isn't befitting for people psychologically. As for business and the kinds of people living and moving here, the rot is still happening. Am planning to get out of the place myself eventually due to these reasons.

Wind back the clock to even '11 and it still felt like it had a heartbeat and was somehow thriving, now, not so much.

that was one hell of a meltdown Trek

without reading anything but the title, I immediately thought this may all be linked in with a three or four-team trade involving Geelong acquiring Dangerfield.

Seems very strange Allen has 'requested' a trade though. He often spoke how much he loves the team.
Surely it wouldn't have anything to do with Clark?
As soon as we looked set to sign Clark, Frawley chooses Hawthorn and now Bundy wants out.

Probably just coincidental.

Ah, if only your first impression were true. Dangerfield and Selwood in the same midfield, it would be trump Couch and Bairstow at their best.

As for Clark, it would just be coincidence. Varcoe may not be traded now though, as he will be needed in the role Bundy has left.

jesus lads whats the go down there ? why would he leave you lot, anyway hope its the lions , maybe the pies stuffing us about means we will get beams to hold off for 12 months have half a go, and come for nothing to us in 2015 and we give you 5 for christian now ! pies may need to change the attitude a bit

not sure how many bickies left in the gold coast bin ? while we still have plenty even with beams

next few days will be interesting

feel for you , its a crap feeling to see your boys bail out , god knows we know what its like

Sounds like some serious personal shit with Allen if he wants to go.

I really hope we get well compensated though because I think to lose another player we rely on heavily in midfield (and would have been here for the next 7-8 years) will set us back something shocking.
I just can't see how we remain a top 4-6 chance as we already saw firsthand how little zip/creativity the team lacked when Christensen missed large chunks of this season.

Mmm, the above is odd. If it is Geelong the town then Melbourne is only a 50 minute drive up the road. To me the 'town has become toxic' means less the town per se than some sort of personal relationship(s) going on within it. He may want distance from family, it may be a break-up. Who knows, and I guess it's none of our business anyway.

Very sad to see him go. Great player with heaps of football left in him.

Perhaps a direct swap with Ablett. :)
Years ago QLD was the place if you were running away from something and looking for a fresh start today it's very much the West,so I reckon the answer is tied to Qld more than Geelong the town or people in it.

Have heard rumors that if Pies knock back Lions latest deal (pick 5 and 25) for Beams, they will offer Geelong pick 5 for Bundy.

Any chance that we can somehow disrupt further communications between the Pies & Lions in the hope that the suggested deal of 5 & 25 will be canned

Don't think Bundy is worth pick 5. He's realistically worth a pick in the twenties IMO, so I'd be very surprised if we got pick 5 for him. There's so much rubbish talk this time of year. I hope the Cats play hard ball with him though.

True, QLD was once for escapees. Especially Vics. Isn't his family from the greater Geelong area - Lara? That said, I think I recall that his father worked in the top end of QLD. Anyway, guess we can't keep him if he wants out. No point being stuck with an unhappy young player.

BRIS's pick 8 thank you.

Personally I'd happily accept that.

It seems like Christensen is determined to leave, so if you can't get the Beams deal over the line and offered us Pick 5 for him I'd be disappointed if the club knocked it back or dug their heels in.

Um... Ok...

Try living here...

I'm a QLD'er who moved to Geelong with family as a kid and I have no interest in moving back to QLD. As a kid all I wanted to do was return "home", but having made many visits to QLD over the years, the older I got the more I realised how I was missing out on nothing by living south.
Having lived in both places I know which one I would choose.

To look at both Christensen & Lonergan together.

The general feel is we'd probably lose out on the Christensen trade, as he wants out, has history of injuries and concussion. We'll get un

Seeing as Lonergan is contracted, we would have to be the big winner of the deal for us to come to the party
Lonergan IS CONTRACTED

No Deal.

No Deal, unless we're clear winners

especially now he has back problems which could be an on going issue in coming years. Also plenty of concerns about head trauma having been concussed many times throughout his short career.
He's still a very good footballer, has showed this in finals as well as the H&A. It's not often you get a contested ball winning midfielder who can kick a goal a game and Allen has plenty more upside only if the body holds up.
No doubt he's a good footballer, but he's not the equivalent of pick 5 in value. People just get carried away with these things. Low to mid 20's is about right for him. If the club got pick 5 that would be a huge win, but they won't because Brisbane are not that stupid.
