Very very sad day that Bundy is gone but clearly he no longer wanted to live in Geelong. Unfortunately, he could not separate playing for Geelong and Living in Geelong.

We got the short end of the wedge. The club was pursing his new contract and had the basic deal done in principle. Principle however is not signed and as such he walked for market unders and we could do nothing about it. Perhaps a player with a little more clarity in his position might have signed an amended 1 yr deal and still wanted a trade to ensure the club had a little more clout but it wasn't to be.

We still got 21 for it and Wells can make something of it with any luck.

Bundy im sure will go on and have a stellar career and we will be left wondering what might have been. Bottom line his heart was not in Geelong anymore. Better to get him out than have him stay and be on the sidelines or disinterested all year.

Lang, Jansen, Hartman and whomever we get this year should be appreciating the opening.

Its certainly one less clearance player we have now for sure.

Bolded probably speaks highly of Christensen as a person.

Im not having a crack at Bundy - I just think he's so caught up in his environment eight now that anything outside of it is just static. He's thinking of himself and what's best for him.

I've met him several times and was always a great bloke. Im sure he will get back to it.

Just not in the hoops. :(

Would you consider on trading this pick for a shot of turning round jack watts in our culture and club! I would consider this worth a shot.... And we could hit the demons fans up again ;)

Geelong accepted pick 21 for a reason, like I said.

Ever stopped to think that maybe Wells has someone in mind at the draft who he's sure will be available at pick 21.

Not one individual is bigger than the club, and while it's sad to see him go, life moves on, as should supporters.

What if his kid (as has been suggested) is a gun footballer and gets picked up father son by Brissie after Al plays his 100 game.

Then I'm going to scream.

Good riddance to bad rubbish I say

Yes. Because he was uncontracted and the club therefore had no leverage in the negotiations.

Or he is severely injured on 99 games for Bris, never plays again and the only way his son (or multiple children for what we know), can only play
is if Geelong pick them up.

I personally dont see what the big fuss about Christensen is, yes he is a good player when fit but he's had a lot of injury problems and GFC didnt really have him this season and look where you finished up, there is a real likelihood that he could end up playing less games at Brisbane than he did at the cats due to injuries and if thats the case then big win for you guys. Cheer up, Pick 21 could turn into something special knowing Wells record.
