😂 which will be Reef 😂 we traded out those players for a pick we will use on our academy pick.

let that sink in and Ned tell us we don’t have cap problems 😂

I think trading Phillips for pick 65 = we were salary dumping. Guy obviously thinks Collingwood members and supporters are morons. Ed will treat all the Collingwood supporters like morons again in MMM tomorrow morning.

Just changed my club support for 2021 through AFL members, I stay Gold and Pies don't get a cent of my money win win.

Can someone answer this question:
WHY IS IT THAT THE WORST CLUB IN THE AFL WAS THE ONLY CLUB INTERESTED IN STEPHENSEN??????

Any other reasonable club could have jumped in a grabbed a 'bargain'. But all stayed away. I doubt Stephensen was over the moon with the opportunity to join a basket case of a club that doesn't have a coach and playes in front of 10,000 people each week.
They aren't the worse club but that is a good question that I have been thinking about. Hawthorn could use a player like him as would at least three other clubs.

There has to be more to this trade and I am inclined to think there is.

Just remember one thing too guys. If you cancel your membership you don't get a vote at an AGM if there is any sort of leadership spill. Just saying.
Would have denied you the opportunity exactly once this century. Was it this century that Theodosi had a crack?

My toughest day in footy....bar none. Managing contracted players who love the environment out of the club is a lose/lose situation in the short term. The decisions aren’t popular but they were necessary. I wish Adam, Jaidyn, Tom and Atu all the best at their new clubs.- Nathan Buckley twitter feed...

Why were they necessary? Will the club explain these trades and why they were necessary?....l think the necessity was due to mismanagement of the salary cap...

I can't stand listening to McGuire talk, but I will tune in tomorrow out of morbid curiosity to see how he spins it

OUTS: Beams, Reid, Varcoe, Dunn, Shaz, Broomy, Treloar, Stevo, Phillips, Atu
INS: Picks 14, 16, 65, 70, 75, 92

Has to be a plan to pick up a delisted free agent or 2.

Sam Skinner
Hugh Goddard
Darcy Lang
Mitch Hibberd
Tom North
Brandon Matera
James Parsons
Will Golds
Darren Minchington
Kyle Dunkley
Paul Ahern
Majak Daw
Lachie Hosie
Mason Wood
Riley Grundy
Logan Austin
Matthew Parker
Billy Gowers
among others

I'm open to anybody at this stage lol. But I think Matt Parker should be locked in, we literally need SOMEBODY to put pressure on JT to perform.

4 contracted players traded out for peanuts...

Result, every contracted player in 2021 knows what the club expects.

I like it, Floreat Pica
Coming around to the hard line stance.
Bloody hope Grundy was injured, otherwise the rocket should be putting him on notice for next year along with Jordy, WHE, Steele, and a few other guys who were a bit off this year.
I think the club needs to bring the spirits up and make two more key outs in Sando and Harvey. Would love to get back Whiskas and maybe Dean Soloman.
If Buckley hasn't been given the ultimatum, then he should be.
His challenge now is to have a bottom 8 team needing to go deep into September to keep his job, his assistants must go.

- “We want to continue strengthening our list and we think the draft is the best way to be able to do that.
- “I don’t think it’s a fire sale at all."
- “It’s part of a plan that we all put together and one we executed today. We want to replenish and add some talent through the draft.”

Out:
Treloar
Stephenson
Phillips
Atu
Pick 39
Pick 42

Ned - It's not a fire sale? These are the bounty of picks we craved? It's an executed plan?
If you told me before trade period that the over would leave, the below is not what I would expect or want.

In: (The replenish)
Pick 14
Pick 65
Pick 70

2021 2nd rounder (Bulldogs)

Dear Ned - Please. I'll still support the club, but again, please, really?

All I want is honesty. Trades are done. If it was slash-and-burn for cap relief then say so.

Sorry Magpie supporters, you work hard, many of you have lost your jobs, many of you really need to balance your finances to contribute, yet you provide what you can through membership of this great club. From this point forward...

I can't even articulate what I want to really say.

Stephenson aside from being shit there are clearly issues behind the scenes so I’m ok with that, but I still would have held onto him and not traded for less than a first round pick.

Phillips is shit also, and the salary dump is nonsense. He is 25 and it’s only one year of the contract the hawks will have to stump up. We are not bringing in any big players this year so cut the crap.

Treloar im hoping for our sake not his, that he has limited capacity left on account of his injuries. He burns the ball we know, but geez he’s a gun. We should have got more for him also.

the other inconsistency in the story is that we want to replenish our list, then why trade two under 21 and a 25 to?! Atu was the biggest F up, I’m convinced! If that guy can learn to run AFL patterns or even just give him a simple role he will be a gun, so clean and composed by hand. Tackle hard and runs like the wind.

exactly!!! There must be alot more to it. It's not his performance this year. I'm sure in time more will come out as to why he was asked to look elsewhere and why 14 other clubs passed on the opportunity to even engage.

I thought it was interesting that Stephenson said in his interview he was told prior to this trading period by his manager and Bucks to strongly look for another club. I doubt his manager would have sat back and done absolutely nothing until 24 hours ago.

Don't need to be Sherlock to see there is alot more to this that simply 1 ordinary year on the field.
