Knew it was coming but my worst case scenario was about 5 times better.
Unfortunately that was naive and optimistic. If everyone knows you are desperate and without option you have no bargaining power.
That's a result of incompetence to a level that more than just can't be hidden but has to be exposed to achieve the result.

It's bad enough that we arsed up the list management so badly, but it's worse because we had to be open and bare our arse to get players out for such bargains.

It's a deceased estate auction for a bankrupt in a recession on steroids.

Well for starters he played the first year in the 2's, then had to be reinvented from the role we got him for because he was no good at it (we might've had better options for a winger but we were stuck with him). Played one good season in a team that was flying. Been fringe best 22 ever since.. Is old.. no upside... LIST CLOGGER all bar 1 year!

Anymore questions by anyone here about Collingwood and or players should just be greeted with, “it’s all part of the plan.”

You’re being generous calling his 2018 good.

This is the biggest betrayal a coach can to do a player. It seems like they didn't even have a review session after the season, and Stevo had to call Bucks to know what is happening. What a pathetic way to treat a young player. Side by side ... my a**.

I don't think I can support this club in good conscience anymore. Until there is change ... Ed, Bucks, Harvey, Ned, Sando ... all need to go. The next time Ed or Bucks say the words, side by side they should be rotten egged.

To be fair, there’s no spin in that. At least he admitted that these players didn’t want to leave and had to be ‘managed’ out of the club. Not like the bullshit Guy was trying to spin.
Im not sure that any of our administrators have handled this maturely or competently though. Change is needed. Funnily enough, the last time I felt this way was 20 odd years ago just before Eddie took over. I really want Kelly to challenge for the presidency now.
Kelly? No way in hell he challenges his mate Eddie and in any case his son on on the list.
What we need is someone not connected to playing for or working for Collingwood that will hire the experts to do their job competently.

Might not get a game.
And even then, we will still be paying part of his salary!
Wouldn’t have blamed him (if the dialogue about the club shopping him out was correct) if he stayed and basically played sh*t to stay in the Magoos and still got paid.

I'm open to anybody at this stage lol. But I think Matt Parker should be locked in, we literally need SOMEBODY to put pressure on JT to perform.
I’d rather bring Broomhead back in than any of those. Parker if fit I guess.

Football can be ruthless, players need to perform on and off the field. Some can do one of these, some can't do either. Sometimes the off field stuff we have no idea what is happening.

Phillips was great on his own, when the heat came how was his decision making. Daicos went passed him and now we have saved all the Phillips salary.

Stevo was great in his first year granted, know where near it since plus his off field indiscretions. Club would have seen exactly what he is like in the Hub first hand. A mix of poor attitude, performance and excessive money means the club has to set a standard for its younger players. Club is entitled to reward those that deliver and those that don't are moved on.

Adam simply cost a lot of money and didn't take a trade last year when he had value, a year on his wife moves on to queensland and his value drops through the floor. His hamstrings let him down every year at some stage and he burns the ball, he gets a lot of it but how many times is it on the last line. How many times did he catch someone in a rundown tackle.

We may never know the full reason for his departure however there is more to this than we will know. The club didn't air it to save the faces of all the players so they could continue there careers elsewhere, I hope all three find their form because if they stayed they'd be playing reserves.

I would imagine the supporters would be angry having 2 million dollars kicking off the dew.

Yes because what I wrote was a glowing endorsement of our trade period.

I think I made it clear that I was very disappointed and I signed the petition that’s been posted in another thread. I also let the club keep two lots of membership fees through through the COVID season. All I was saying was that I have a different opinion on the notion of walking away when things aren’t rosy at the club, I was raised always to stay until the final siren no matter how bad the result is and that’s how I view the off-field stuff too. And I felt with so many declaring that they are walking away, that I needed to point out my different view on the subject.

I don’t believe I deserved to be attacked for my views and I don’t appreciate it.

I didn't say you gave a glowing endorsement of the trade period. I took umbrage of you calling supporters (including Members in that) bandwagon supporters. Alot of us have stuck by the club, some financially, through the worst times.
The club today embarked on one of the worst exodus of quality players in any trade period, and there are alot of unhappy Collingwood prople around tonight. Look at twitter, even ex players are having a go at Ned Guy or the club.
People showing passion, and their disappointment, doesn't mean we are bandwagon supporters!!

What's worse:

Cave to the demands of those asking for exorbitant contacts, and losing players who want to be there, for peanuts

Or

Not caving, potentially losing them for naught but retaining players who want to be there?

What do you mean? Of course he did. 2x Premiership player.

Treloar made an error coming here, we’ve proven that and Buckley should have gone to coach somewhere else.

Harsh but true.
Far from harsh the truth is the truth, I'm confident we won't be attracting any big fish anytime soon also.

id prefer Matera over Parker

Clearly not caving means you get 80% of their trade value versus overpaying and getting 30% of their trade value because other clubs know you're ****ed.
