I hope he gets the job just to see you melt tbh.

I don't melt - you must have someone else in mind.

If we do go with Pyke then I'll disagree with it, shrug my shoulders and move on (hoping he doesn't **** things up at our club like his did at the Crows).

GWS have Whitfield, Cogs, Kelly, Greene on long term deals (6-8) with prob good money, yet we struggle with the cap? Something not right here lol

Grundy Sidebottom Adams Pendlebury all on similar deals to them, plus we overpay the mid tier players like Cox Phillips ect

Strange for Lynch to sign on so quickly when he's guaranteed to be stuck behind Grundy for the next 6 years. Must've made him an offer he couldn't refuse.

Lynch had a couple of good games. He might have gotten more chances elsewhere but I can't think of a single team where he would not be a backup ruckman right now. GWS would be the closest I guess.

Is Thomas out or contract? Don't think his form warrants an extension.

Probably an under the table media deal since he likes his podcasts.

OOC/Restricted Free Agent.

Why are we believing Paige Cardona? She's a prolific Collingwood supporter on Twitter, it's not like she's a journo.

Actually she has done some Jobs in the Media

Last Few Years her Info has come to be Proven Correct

I think you’re right. Maybe the clubs who were interested had ruckman who would be around for another couple of years.

It might not be about #1 ruck opportunity now, but it could be more about opportunity in 1-2 years from now when Lynch will be entering his prime and all of those clubs will need a mature ruckman by then.

Despite not being the #1 ruck right now West Coast would be a good spot for him - minimum 35-40% game time there for the taking in the ruck every week alongside Nic Nat if he (Lynch) can be semi-useful up forward for another 25-30% of game time). Hawthorn and Sydney would also be good spots for him to land, maybe even Gold Coast as well if Witts doesn't get back to what he was, as they all have ageing rucks with some injury questions and no depth.

GWS are are actually looking ok, with both Flynn and Briggs looking good as young up and coming ruckmen and Preuss might make it back onto the field one day.

Thomas will play elsewhere next season. Some club will take him.

Gosh I hope your right, but the odds against us being top 8 in 2023 are pretty heavy given where we are at right now and the quality of players we will have hanging up the boots by then.

Young players historically really start to hit their straps after 70-80 games, not 30-40, so you might be expecting a bit too much from a lot of them a bit too early.

Personally I think we'll be bottom 6 again next year, mid table (ie. 10th - 12th) in 2023 and 2024 is the year we start pushing for a top 8 spot. If it doesn't happen at that point, then we make it back into the top 8 in 2025.

From there it usually takes a couple of years of seasoning in finals football before a team becomes a serious flag threat and we will likely need that given a lack of finals experience in our team at that point.

I think we can make the top 8 but depends on the coach we appoint. If it’s a coach with experience then we can bounce back quicker.

The competition is bloody average at the moment.
Excellent... I'm sorry Mason but its a tough business...

Hopefully the signing of Lynch is true.

However, it is strange considering he also doesn’t know who his coach would be?

Maybe there is something cooking behind the scenes that we are unaware of.
