But we are in the box seat. I don’t know why we should be looking for points for the dogs in this draft when we need them ourselves. Lynch can go to the Hawks for a 3rd round pick this year for us. Dogs take next year’s or he walks to the PSD. It’s not harsh. They have a fair offer. It’s up to them to decide.
I would rather not trade Lynch to the dogs unless we arent offered much for Lynch from another club.
Why not trade Lynch to Dogs and ask for The Lip and a late Doggies draft pick? Then we get the extra points. Bit too cheeky?

Don't confuse running 2k time trials with having a good tank.

Grundy's tank in an actual game is as good as any going around and I'd rate him well ahead of Lynch on that front until he (Lynch) has proven that he can make it to 80+ ruck contests in a game on the bigger grounds and still be a presence around the ground.
I don't think he moves as well as he did. Not sure if he's put on more weight or just not as fit but he doesn't appear to cover the ground as well imo

It's because Lynch isn't a forward and neither is Grundy AND we have Darcy Cameron. Darcy doesn't have to ruck but he's too good at it not to. It's a waste of a position if we have three rucks running about. We could trade Grundy and solve a lot of problems but it wouldn't be a great look.
And we’d end up paying $300k for a player to play for another team again.

They keep floating those three names. Now, Darcy Moore is a leader at the club so we can safely disregard him BUT I believe Maynard or de Goey could be floated. A lot of rumour mill stuff on Twitter about the latter.

Maynard saying he is going No Where.

De Goey is the only 1 heard nothing about

Any interest in Finlayson?

Not for us.

So much for the "had first baby, wants to be closer to (partner's) family" thing if that report is on the money.

First Finlayson, now smoke around Cogs. Looks like the ex-champion poster child for TPP cap turmoil might be regaining their title, although admittedly their fire sale has never really ended.

That's code for there's bigger issues. AFL players not supported? Hardly. They have access to that much help these days and their agent is a 1-on-1 support guru most of the time.

They don't have a late draft pick to give us this year. Their points carrying picks right now are 17 and 72, so they are currently in a much tighter spot in terms of matching an early bid on Darcy than we are matching an early bid on Daicos.

They are prob now hoping Young gets a suitor, would help them with points.

Why would Lipinski even talk to them if he’s decided he wants to go to Collingwood? To help facilitate an outcome he doesn’t want? Ball didn’t talk to other clubs prior to the ND of 2009…

So if a trade does not occur because Collingwood play hard ball on the moderate ask of a future 3rd... he won’t then consider his options?

NM then ring his manager... promise the same deal but an extra 50-75k... he won’t consider his options?

I think he leaves the Bulldogs no matter what. And I’m sure there are multiple Melbourne clubs that would offer him an immediate 3 year deal.

At the end of the day he wants to leave to play weekly football... not because he wants to play for Collingwood as much as we the punters do here on Bigfooty

Hopefully GW plays the "salary cap squeeze card" forever.
Masterful ploy to ensure nobody takes us for a ride again.
But if he does that forever people such as yourself will be forever calling for continuous EGMs to spill the Board for daring to make the salary cap tight.

Because the Board makes the salary cap tight, right?

I disagree. If we had pick 2, North would definately bid, of that I'm sure.
Yes we could trade it out, but then you're in the same boat as last year, where we got Poulter and satisfied the McInnes bid.

I dont know a single person alive or dead who would willingly trade pick 2 for pick 27 and 31.

That's effectively what we did. Yes Poulter looks a player and the trade may well work out well but when looking at it as a raw deal we got bent over...

If we don't get him we don't get him, we aren't contenders people need to realise this.
Yup he'd be s nice addition but he isn't critical to our rebuild.
Club after last few years trades need to not be bent over.

Pretty sure that means we would have to keep the 800k in our cap for next year, which is not going to happen given our troubles. We will pay for him, I wouldn't be surprised if it was 39 which will move down to 41 at least.

Another way Lipinski can come to Collingwood via the PSD, is stipulate that the club who drafts him has to let him go to the club of his choice at the end of the year, if he chooses, for the club of his choice last round pick. I fail to see why Collingwood should pay anything other than a 4th or 5th round pick for what is essentially a fringe player, Lipinski is worth no more than Seir on the open market.

I feel like Lewis Young is the next Roughy but if he wants regular senior football it’s probably a year too early for us.

I feel like he could be a player at full back if allowed to settle there.

Probably worth more than Sier.
Played over 50 games. Only got pushed out by a top midfield.
Sier couldn't even break into a bottom 4 midfield. Even when Pendles got injured.

Maybe because they want to keep Lynch
