A quick, hard running, long kicking genuine mid thanks. Trade, recruited, completely mortgage our future. I really don't care.

Ive only been asking it during my entire time here.

It did happen, didn't it?

It wasn't all just some glorious dream was it and we've just woken up?

Um, I'm sorry it didn't happen. Nice dream, though.

We actually got knocked out in the first week of the finals in Perth and GWS won the 2016 flag.

And in a curious move, the AFL included the next season's #1 draft pick as part of the Giants' prize money and included all non-metroplitan areas across Australia in the Giants' Academy.

It happened. I have the dvds to prove it.
Still think we scrape into finals this year and you never know...
I don't think we'll do it, but this season is so open that we could actually still make top four.

Some good news and bad news. Good news is that as of right now the Koby Stevens trade is worth pick 67 in points value.

The bad news is that we're the ones giving the pick to the Saints. Yep, as of the current ladder the Koby Stevens trade works out to -292 points(pick 67). We give them 61+53 and get 50+72.

So not only did we give StKilda a clearly best 22, 189cm big bodied 25 disposals midfielder with good skills (compared to the other hacks in the Saints midfield), but we were also generous enough to give them a draft pick on top for their troubles. How nice of us.
Now we know why JMac said in the post trade period video on our site that he was very disappointing in that trade. Would this be the first trade in AFL history where a team actually gives up a draft pick ALONG with a player for nothing in return? If he was so disappointed in the trade (as he should be) why the hell not make a stand and just send him to the PSD? Getting nothing for him is better than losing out on draft picks/points for nothing.

At least it looks like we're getting something in return for the Hrovat trade. That works out to us getting pick 54 atm. This is also for a player who is a clear best 22 for North, and tbh both Hrovat and Stevens would be in the top dozen or so players in their respective teams so far this season.

For some perspective here are some other trades done recently;

Collingwood got pick 32 for Paul Seedsman, who hasn't played a single AFL game this year.

Blues got pick 31 (in points) for Tom Bell who's playing VFL for the worst team in the league.

GWS got pick 30 for Curtly Hampton who's playing VFL for the Crows.

WestCoast got pick 31 for a 29yr old Matt Rosa who can barely get a game at GC.

But shouldn't fringe players from the Premiers have good value? Isn't that what we learnt from the Jed Anderson trade? Which got the Hawks pick 15 (with later pick swaps). Who btw also can't get a game for the 3rd worst team in the league (Actually he got recalled to their AFL team this weekend for some reason, but got 9 disposals so it will probably be his last game for the season, and maybe for the club).

Heard somewhere on the radio that Port may not match offers on FAs Trengove and Pittard.

Would we have a crack at either?

IMO Trengove would be handier than say Fletch...Pittard is meh but why not if any it all of JJ, Webb, Murphy and Moyd go?

I was told by someone at the club that Bev was very happy to see the back of Stevens. No idea why.

But in principle I agree 100%.

Would be all over Pittard. He can play. I think he sufferers a bit from the Jacko Macrae's where he'll do 25 good things in a game but supporters overlook that for the 2 bad things he did.

IMO our #1 target should be Robbie Gray.

Once we win 3 in a row our players will have greater value.

Now I liked Koby but you didn't just say he has good skills did you??

Hrovat and Koby are around 12-22 in their respective teams and both of those teams are Sh!t which is why they get games.

If you're suggesting their two would make us any better you have lost your mind mate. They would add to the average depth players sucking it up presently

We got zero value for them because that is what they are worth. When we got offered two picks for Hrovat we should have pushed him out as well as the offer for Jong should have been forced through. Holding onto depth players doesn't win flags

Hawthorn proved this over and over again

We all love Bev but he seems to have his favs and when he makes a call on a player there is no coming back.

He is clearly a very stubborn man and backs himself and the players he likes to the hilt but this is being shown up this year as not a great thing to do.

Some of his selection decisions this year have been beyond baffling.

Gia needs to go.

Not because I couldn't stand the way he played but no coach should be. Hired that has only had experience at one club.

What ideas can Gia add other than what's in his head? He has had no learning at other clubs. No experience at different ways club run, structures, patterns, game day.

Other than what's in his head what can he add?

Run to the ball squib the contest while trying to push his man under the ball even though he was in front, and turn before him and use his complete lack of speed to get back to the ball and dribble a goal. I cannot believe any club would even consider this bloke a midfield coach, he didn't like contact when he played so how can he teach others to do something he didn't??

As of now I think prudden is gone from the rookie list (what ever it becomes next season) moyd is done, Honeychurch gone and Hamilton gone.

I would also only keep 1 of Morris or Murphy next season.

We need to bring in good kickers but I also think we need to go after a natural quick crumbing forward we just do not have one. We have midfielders playing as small forwards and our mids are not quick.

If there's one thing Luke can't be accused of its playing favourites.
