Potentially Daniel in the backline and push Daniel up the ground.
Roarke and VDM need to be moved out of the team.
Can never have too much depth that is actually decent with scope to improve

Also Stocker is a serviceable defender.

You would think we would just do it regardless, bring in an A Grade midfielder or two, but no, clearly Geelong have holes all over the ground and a bottomless salary cap and/or deep business and property 'connections' to tempt. Frustrating as hell.

If it gets you Dunkley why not? They’ll still have the Amon compo. The draft really opens up after the top 2/3 talents. Next years also has some very highly rated SA talent.

I’m not sure there’s much evidence that English is an out and out forward. If you see it that way then I don’t think Lobb is a great partner. Lobb is a very reluctant ruck and not particularly good at it. English is a better ruck than Lobb.

Not from what we saw on Saturday night.
I agree not heaps of evidence English is a forward but plenty of evidence that he isn't a great ruck.
He can play though, we have invested in him either we trade now or try him before in other spots before recruiting for a position he might be able to play.

Ruckman aren't defenders is the simplest way to put it.

English is a ruckman either (well maybe not a no.1) I agree that you can't play key defence and ruck part time

Melican from the Swans 'gettable' - if we remove FS romance, he's a significant upgrade on Cordy as a backman.
Similar height but much stronger and has always presented as an 'honest' player who just does all the basics right. Don't think there would be much cost either.

I've moved to Birregurra and I've heard this too. I'll try to get a word in with the family.

Something doesn’t add up. He was mic’d up last week and bantering with all the boys. If you weren’t happy then you wouldn’t be putting yourself out there to do these things. Hope he stays but I’ve supported the Dogs long before Josh’s debut and I’ll be supporting them long after he retires (touch wood)!

I am not sure how Melican is an upgrade on Cordy. He looks to me to be pretty much like for like in that he is a fringe player. We really need to strengthen our best 22.

He played 9 games in 2020 and 6 games in 2021 and none this year. Looks to be pushed down the pecking order by McCartin who had never been a defender prior to this year.

Easily an upgrade on any of our tall backs.
We are going nowhere with Cordy. Isn't a key back, not a forward, second ruck will be filled.
Cordy has 2cms on Melican but Melican 2 extra kgs. Melican looked very reasonable I think it was 2019. I think he was injured much of 20 and 21?
McCartin has a couple 2 cms on him and 5 kgs and the Swans have Tom McCartin at 194cm, Rampe who plays tall, no wonder he was squeezed out.

Yeah, they were hard, but battlers and most would struggle nowadays barring Southern, who would’ve been a gun if not for injury.
