One of the massive issues with Dunkley telling us this late, if he has, is that it leaves us behind the 8 ball trying to make moves ourself.
For all we know, we already know and everything has been just posturing.

This what Sam Edmund said nothing about a Exit meeting

Josh Dunkley

“There’s no more torturous waiting game than that lived by Western Bulldogs supporters at the moment because Josh Dunkley still hasn’t told the Dogs of his intentions for next year.

“(He's) unsigned, being wooed heavily by Port Adelaide. I think that is the club I know Brisbane has bought a ticket to the raffle, but the Port Adelaide offer is the big offer, trumps the Dogs offer, trumps the Brisbane offer, this is exhibit A for temptation for Josh Dunkley.

“I know he’s got a link there, his partner plays netball there… the contract offer in its length and in its financial clout, that is the one.”

I'd expect Sam Power would have contingencies in place for losing Dunks, but there is a lot to play out his year. I expect we're up for a very busy trade period and I'm not sure we're going to be very happy at the end of it.

You heard about at least 1 other senior player wanting out?
OR
Are we going to pay a couple of bad boys out their contract to not come back next year?

Change to word 'unprofessional' to 'trainwreck' and does that change your opinion?

I think losing Dunks is a disaster for a number of reasons, least of which is how much he is willing to get the best out of himself on the training track and the example that he sets for everyone else.
I’m sure the player we are inferring here isn’t the only “trainwreck” in the AFL.

Geelong recently took a punt on a trainwreck and turned him into an all Australian.

Does Dunkley ask any potential suitors “do you have any players on the trainwreck variety that should stop me requesting a trade to your club”.... doubtful.

Jason Johannisen

“Jason Johanissen, not a certainty yet to the Gold Coast, but it’s a solid offer and they have a need there that would see the Norm Smith Medallist reprise his half-back role which he hasn’t been able to do.

Bailey Dale on the scene, Caleb Daniel pulling the strings there, he (Johannisen) hasn’t been able to do it at the Whitten Oval.

“So the sell for him is yes, it’s a three-year contract and a solid one, but you get to play half back again at our football club.”

I like Dunkley and would rather he stay, but if he’s actually given some sort of ultimatum re player standards I’d let him go. There are players with issues at every club. He’ll be playing with SPP next year if he goes to Port ffs.

How many weeks did SPP miss this year due to 'personal issues'?
He's probably had his best year

We'll have to agree to disagree - I think players have to adhere to some sort of standard. The 80s are over.

Let's just say if Dunkley walks, I think our window is shut.

I’m not disputing that. I’m saying that it’s not a justifiable basis as a reason to request a trade. Every club has issues with certain players.

If Dunkley requests a trade and one season in he feels “certain players are trainwrecks or unprofessional” at his new club, does he just request another trade on that basis alone?

If Dunkley walks it could the best thing for us.. remember the last time one of our best Mids left.... Griffen.... well that made the club reassess all parts of the club and they reset really quickly. The difference is this time our list is in a much better position and our midfield is deep. Personally I think we are weak on the wings and key defence (which we all know) so we just need to prop these areas up and recruit a couple of new assistants to help Bevo and we will be just fine indeed :)

Not all issues are the same.
That question sounds like you think Dunks hasn't done his due diligence.
No other team was nicknamed 'tennis ball club' in the 2020 finals series

Sorry mate but he definitely said the exit meeting with the club was today. I was listening. He's feeling in for Dwayne Russell today
He did a segment on the dogs and our coaching set up etc.

Port fans spat on Karl Amon as the walked off the ground after their prelim loss to us.

Go forth if you want dunks lol

It seems the club is doing what it can and that involves discipling the player, putting their arms around him and getting him the help he may require.

I say if Dunkley goes it is because of $ and I don't have a problem with that, he should do what he thinks is best for him and his future but don't feed me b******t (if he uses this as the reason he is leaving)
