We need a small defender. Let's sign Lachie Young up as a DFA

I doubt it's as clean as all 3 1sts for Pick 4.

I think it would more likely be something like:
10, 17, and F1 for Pick 4, Pick 35 and F2.

That would be we get Watson, still have points for Croft, and could take a late 2nd rounder, while only downgrading our F1

If we really are offering 10, 17 and F1 for GC's pic 4 then we are getting their F2 back too. Still not sure I'm OK with it. We'd be backing ourselves to finish high and GC low in the hope those 2 pics are close.

We could be looking at a player or players from GC. I'm guessing we are interested in Hollands? Anyone heard anything?

Pick 17 needs to be traded for a future first.

Pick 10 to North or Dees for future picks.

We settle for Croft (bid likely at pick 8, Bombers).

Then have a big draft next year.

Croft is too good to pass up and the cost of pick 4 is probably too high.
We’re not getting anything close to a F1 for pick 17. Pick 17 in reality is going to be closer to 22-23 anyway so no one is going to take that risk.

The best we can hope for is maybe one of the 2024 North compo picks or maybe a WCE F2.

Why would Sam Power be under pressure he is doing his job.
And I'm guessing it wouldn't be Powers decision alone. Last year Bevo held up the Dunkley trade because he wanted a swap of late picks. Grant was involved with the Schache trade.
It's more than just Sam Power.

Edwards any good? Was pretty highly rated in his MSD year and not his fault he got Norf’d. Is he purely a key forward or could he develop as a mobile ruck?

Pardon the intrusion.

10, 17 and F1 is quite the package for pick 5.

What do you reckon is behind such enthusiasm?

Is it for Nick Watson?

The only way I can see us throwing in the F1 is if there's a Suns player that we want to get that would make the cost a little less insane.

Wouldn’t want any player that gets delisted by North Melbourne

Nope. Look at his VFL stats, bloody terrible. My impression is that he was a good junior ruck/fwd because he was big but couldn’t bring it up to even VFL level against men. Or his head was never in the game.

I thought he had pretty serious concussion concerns.

Would pick 17 and F1 be enough for pick 8 from the bombers?
If we're using it future first I'd prefer pick 8 and 10 to pick 4

Pick 8 and 10, will become picks 11/12 and 13/14 come draft night. Doesn't look as good as it seems.

But I would rather that than selling the farm for pick 4. Gives us two first round picks across the next two years as opposed to just one.

Decent idea.

I suspect the Bombers would bid on Croft, so getting their pick would be ideal.
