He appears very invested at the lions though. Any smoke indicating a fire?
Clubs will definitely come hard next year but from a dogs perspective getting him a year earlier and before other clubs chase him for free would be incentive. From a Lions perspective do they cash in now for more then they'd get in compensation or go for a premiership before he requests to leave as a free agent.

I don't know whether he will leave or not but I do know we have been significantly interested for the better part of 2 years. Generally that level of interest doesn't stay at that level unless there is atleast an indication he is willing to move.

It’s interesting as when you line the two sides up, Lions have a clear advantage on us on HFF and wings. Bailey, Rayner, McLuggage, Lohmann, are all significantly better than who we run through there. Getting Rayner now just as he is starting to blossom would be a massive win.

It's a different generation. As a teenager and young person of the 90s and early 00s I don't remember getting up to such stupid and downright weird s*** as the kids do today.
I can't judge on weirdness, I certainly got up to some odd things in my youth and I still have a habit of acting on what ever strange idea my brain cooks up. I do think though that we used to do dumb and weird things to stand out and now being "quirky" is all about fitting in.

Nah, every generation does stupid shit, a lot of it the same thing over and over. My dad has plenty of stories about being a dumb kid in the 70s that would fit in just fine with the teenagers I work with now.

The Hun relying upon the always reliable “industry sources”.

Article is by Mark Duffield. Piece reads to me like it’s been pushed out by the Eagles.
First round pick is a very broad term these days considering that the first round stretches into the 20s and we will only see about 60-70 players selected.

Sydney offered them two firsts last year, pick 16 last year and their first this year, which will probably be around 16 as well.

I think the Eagles are posturing to try and get something similar to what they declined last year.

I think 12 and Reeves or 30 gets it done.

Guess so. Maybe it's just that not every single piece of stupidity was captured back in the 90s and further back as it is now.

Also, two firsts for Barrass. I love it. Hope the Eagles hold firm. I'm sick of Hawthorn already and I can't believe at one stage last year I was feeling sorry for them. Ridiculous.

In breaking news, Hawthorn have initiated talks with Cam Raynor's management.

I think he's worth at least a mid second rounder.
Personally I'd have him as a very late second or early third and that is only because he is contracted. He should be in the 16 - 24 range of a squad and given he is a 29 year old jack of all trades master of none I'd have my priorities elsewhere. In saying that though he obviously has suiters if he has requested a trade.
