Brew signing can also be seen as adding a playing coach to the list

He's got years of experience and done a great job helping develop those Werribee under 23 players

I kept quiet on it as I just didn’t really see it happening with the amount of players we could play through the midfield, so it’s a little surprising.

However, his determination and work ethic I don’t think can be faulted and it will definitely means players will be fighting for places. And that can only be a good thing - if we do add him on in the end.

Bloke deserves a crack, had a feeling it was Bevo when there was reports he spoke to a premiership coach asking for a chance

Hopefully his dedication and standards rub off on a few. I'd much prefer guys that live and breath the game rather then those blessed with skill who only play to fund their video game addiction.

Worst comes to worst, he barely plays and spends 12 months with guys like Gallagher, Sanders and our other young guys.

Honestly having him be de-facto captain of Footscray would work, have him working closely with Sanders and the new lads to set the standard for them.

Apparently we have Internet In SANFL Ruckman Harry Boyd

Love Brew’s story but I really hope we give the last spot to Boyd. He’s a little short for an AFL ruckman but he plays in a Ben Hudson/Brodie Grundy style that Bev might actually use if needed. Averaged 20 disposals, 40 hit outs and 10 clearances in the SANFL this year. Would be great to have him showing the ropes to Lachie Smith at VFL level, as his playing style is very similar to Smith’s. He can pinch hit at either end too, so we could still give Smith plenty of ruck minutes.

I thought Boyd was all but certain going to the saints wonder what happened

Bevo will play him R off half back lol

It worked moving into the back line for Matt Boyd and we haven’t really had that contest one n one big bodied type in the back line since.

Love Brew.

Follow Werribee very closely and he's an absolute machine. Gun at the contested ball, hard as nails, a competitive beast. I hope we list him. Would add so much to us and at the very least will be invaluable to our kids.

Also, the passion. It just pours out. If anyone has a chance to see the post match interview he did this year (maybe after a final?) he was absolutely knackered and had given it his all and the tears were welling because of how much it meant (and probably how spent he was).

He's far more Matt Boyd than McComb when it comes to VFL players coming to AFL.

As much as I love the Brew story and want to see him get a shot, Boyd makes much more sense from a list perspective.

I can’t see what he would offer that a Garcia wouldn’t, who dominated just as much as Brew did at VFL level this year. Plus we just picked up Matt Kennedy and drafted another Kennedy who also has similar attributes to Brew.

Wouldn’t mind trying Cleary on the wing. Think he could have scope there.

I think we’ll see him moved around a little next year given his contract’s ending. But unless there’s a dramatic improvement it should be his last year on the list. Freijah is already much better at the same half back role and I’m tipping would be a much better wingman too. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jacques is already on par with him next year.
