Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

Operation get both Reid and Curtin might be underway…

I’d rather not part with our future 1st tbh.

I could see us doing future 1st for the Dees pick 5 and their future 1st or if Curtin falls to Geelong’s pick, doing the same with them.

Wouldn’t agree with it, but wouldn’t hate it.

In an offseason where the AFL has so far thrown a bone to half the teams in the competition via handouts or free agency charity..

It's still not going to do a single thing for the club that actually finished last, was uncompetitive for the majority of the season, won 3 wooden spoons in 3 different competitions and will likely miss out on their NGA prospect.

LeAgUe EqUaLiSaTiOn everybody.
You wait till the real **** you happens, when the AFL distribute their monetary assistance amounts and we effectively get to pay the shinbludgers to get all the benefits of being a poorly run basket case while we get zilch

I'd love us to get McKercher & one of either Duursma or Curtin.

Unfortunately, I think what will happen is that Norf will be trading pick 3 with Essendon as part of that deal and then try to strong arm us into accepting unders.

Maybe they could offer 2, 8 & F1 (Norf), 19, F19

we could then package 19, 22, 36, 43, 57, and 62 into three other higher picks somehow. Package some off to GC for 11?

2023: 2, 8, 11, (35-40), (35-40)
2024: (1-4), (1-4), 19, 20

If Daniel Curtin slides, West Coast could re-enter the frame for him with a live trade (using future pick) on draft night. Chance Eagles get Reid & Curtin that way. Reid’s interview dismissed any notion of homesickness etc.
What future pick? We’d likely only have one 1st rounder next year and it’s highly likely to be pick number 1

I'd do it for sure.

Get a home grown gun this year with massive potential and retain a F1 next year in a draft where the top end are Victorian mids.

Reid + Curtin would be a phenomenal boost.

It could end up being pick 1 for Curtin and 13-18, it looks rough on paper but if Curtin ends up being good, none of us will care.

It’s a gamble, but one that might be worth taking considering the lack of elite talls in next years draft.

Swapping F1s with Geelong might be acceptable... there's a sneaky chance that ends up very well.

Player sponsor draft for 2024 still has spots available if anyone wants in
Can i have Harley Reid?

I'd like teams at the bottom teams (such as us and Norf this year) take a punt on themselves and trade their F1 to a team they think they can overtake. Eg. we can sell the F1 to a Richmond for their first this year, F1, F2, and then overtake them on the ladder, we've just done a Marlion Pickett on them.

Would dissuade any notions of us tanking in the media if we're actively trying to not finish last.

We all knew it was going to happen that Nth would get pick 3 for a player no club in their right mind would offer up a 1st round pick for, never mind a top 10 pick for. So how the AFL compensation pick works is straight up compromised and corrupt.
Offer us 2+3 and some future pick(s) and I hope we go Yeah.....Nahhh.
This year has really shown just how compromised the whole system is so once again I say F-yall, we are taking the best player in the draft who happens to be a Vic and turn him into a Perth boy.
Sounds like he likes the beach and we have some pretty good beaches here as well.

So once again.

JUST TAKE/DRAFT/GET REID!!!
they need a full back -an 18 year old??

Agreed, I’d definitely prefer that over the Melbourne one IF Curtin got through to the Cats pick obviously. Can’t see Geelong playing finals next year, Dees will almost certainly finish top 4.

the thing we have lost sight of is bottom clubs have a way to rebuild, it's called the national draft, where picks are handed out in reverse order of the table.

no one is suggesting 'no compo', but the formula dependent on salary and ladder position alone doesn't seem to be working equitably

It’s not enough. You need to find 25-30 afl players at 3-4 per year. Rebuilds take too long. Not every pick every year will make it as an afl player, so takes 6-8 years to rebuild.

I’m of opinion bottom 4 get an early 2nd round pick automatically. Would a team tank for a second round pick? Not so sure.

Can always bring a future first from 2025 into 2024. Depends what the club values most, I guess.

Maybe they think Curtin rounds out the midfield rebuild?

Get what you're saying but Richmond the wrong example lol. They don't have a first this year.

It might just be a coincidence, but after weeks of nothing from the club on what we wanted for pick 1 the same day pick 3 to North is officially confirmed an article comes from nowhere saying we want 2 and 3

All the BS about pick 2 and 19, or 2 and 14 being good offers or maybe Hawthorn or Melbourne being in a position to make a run at pick 1 has been shown up for the rubbish it was

Now we have Eyebrows Ralph writing about how North might be better just using the picks they have

Like I said, maybe just a coincidence but theres been a change of tune
