Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

Keys you may like to sticky this post & move it to the start of the thread (so the sticky post doesn't rotate if a post is deleted before it), or copy it to your draft thread if you have one.

I don’t think North take him, especially if McKersher is the other one they are taking. 2 interstate players at that rubble would be worrying especially after JHF

Oh ok.

If we got 2 F1 18 from norf.

We talk to crows and split norf F1 into 10 14 F1(13). Norf F1 is going to be bw pick 1-5. Dogs bought Pick 4 for 11 18 F1

Then 2023
2 10 14 18 23 37

2024
Our F1 2 3 and crows F1

Lot of ifs - too many to put much faith in the outcome.

I like Clay Hall as a late pick or Rookie, showed a bit, could develop for a couple of years in the WAFL, and be another midfield option. Even with a champion midfield you always have role players. Braun, Fletcher, Rowan Jones etc etc
He’s played a bit of wing too.

Fair chance on Hall being there late and we would be keen if we havent picked a big bodied inside mid earlier.

Bar Reid of course.

Not sure why you needed to consider gaining F1 picks now when Player X is going to ask to be traded anyway.

Player X = any of Serong, Darcy, Brayshaw, Cox

One thing I've never quite got my head around is what happens to the points values AFTER compo picks, bids, etc.
Do the values constantly change or are they locked in once received?
i.e. right now 37 is worth 37, but on draft night 37 may move to 34. Does the value then increase to 34, or value stays at 37?
It’s a “live” draft.

So picks hold the points attached to that pick number.

So if pick 37 moves up to pick 34, then it holds the points value of 34.

‘Hey 2023. Sorry I missed you - must be busy listening to trade radio around the clock…

Anyway, just checking in, seeing if you’re doing ok. It’s already felt like a long off season and we’re still 5 weeks from draft day, sheesh! Just thought I’d remind you not to accept Jack Watts and Stephen Hill for Nic Naitanui.

Warmest Regards

2008’

Wouldn’t that have actually been Naitanui and Hill traded for Watts?

Yeah so the compo picks are even a bigger load of rubbish by de-valuing everyone else's picks.

But then on draft night once GC 2nd rounders get swallowed up our later picks will gain in value.
Yes. But then there aren’t any picks worth trading up for.

“Points” are only valuable to teams wanting to match a bid.

Not for setting potential pick trade values with teams who don’t need points to match a bid.

You think that Freo again made a killing at the trade table...a future 1st, a future 2nd, and pick 34.

But then you realise they got them by losing two required players and it has undoubtedly set back their push for a flag.

Someone should do an updated comparison of player movements out of WC and Freo in the past five years or so...

Yep, but just offering it from our perspective on that draft. We were set on Nic being the best talent in that pool from a mile out, not just a WA thing.

Melbourne were weighing up both but worried of go home factor on Nic apparently too.

I think you’ve just got to select best talent or it can haunt you forever. If we give up our Naitanui of this draft (Reid) for anything else I think it could be felt as a massive weight on us for many years.

Time will tell, but last year in a more even pool we took the risk to split and it looks like it was the right time to do it. If in the lead up to 2008 if another club tried to pry pick 2 (which we were praying was NN, who we would have also taken at pick 1) we’d have told them to gtfo

Gday,

Long time reader, first time poster. Scenario for everyone if Draft pans out as follows:

1. Reid WCE
2. Walters GC
3. Mckercher NM
4. Duursma NM
5. Watson HAW
6. Sanders WB
7. Melbourne
8. GWS
9. Geelong

Curtin is still on the Board what do you think it would take to get one of the next three picks to take him without possibly giving up next years 1st or if we have to swap 1st next year with obviously something else going either way. Looking forward to seeing everyone’s thoughts 🤟
Now ok

Let's talk someone with some thoughts going on. I will show why Curtin will slide further than here.
In this latest Top 30 Draft picks
5 Daniel Curtin 197cm Utility
6 Ethan Read 200cm Ruckman Athletic Freak Suns Academy. Suns need to bid here or Live Trade here right?
9 Connor Osullivan 198cm Genuine CHB

10 Nate Caddy Goal Kicking Mid. Is higher rated on some draft boards.
11 - Jake Rogers Suns Academy. Very quick and one of the cleanest mids in the Draft. Again another Bid/Live trade scenario.

13 Jordan Croft 200cm Key Fwd
14 Ollie Murphy 200cm CHB Vic Countrys MVP..

Daniel Curtin has told the AFL World he wants to be a midfielder. He has basically thrown his draft position into chaos. Why would you draft him as a CHB? Once all these Bids & Live trades with Suns Academy & other Genuine KPP go through Curtin will slide 15 to 20. Funny thing is Journos are now saying Curtin wont go pick 2 to 4 now. Well when people have a closer look here, they will see Curtin is sliding hard. Where he should be. Reminds me of Ed Allan last yr was a draft bolter into top ten only to be picked at 18/19.
I can not see how Curtin now wanting to be a midfielder can be picked higher than 13 "Shannon Hurn" Guys like Cripps & Fyfe were in this teen range too Big bodied mids. I hope Curtin doesn't Brander himself. Picked to play FF but played everywhere except where he belonged.

Ah it’s horrible I think based on the fact they thought their list development was anticipating entering a premiership window from last year on. Last year was a shambles on the park and this trade (exodus) period a shambles off it imo. Even if those picks are to be repurposed for established player targets there’s less stability that will work out for them.

It’s also indicative of something deeper that these guys wanted to leave the club. Schultz being a rookie list player for so long and only getting a deal for 2023 was crazy, he’s one of their best players. Freo don’t generally show their players they care about them is the vibe
