Hello Eagles fans!

The embedded resources below are kept up to date by the trade board mods (as much as possible – we are human after all). Enjoy!

JUST IN: James Jordon is the first player to move of the free agency period! The Dees receive an end-of-second-round compensation pick (currently pick 39) in return.

Wasnt James Jordon delisted and then picked back up?
Nope

Pushes our pick 39 to 40. Be close to 50 by the time academy picks are factored in with other compo picks

Swans are interested in Taylor Adams, along with Jordon they could have too many mids.
What do you guys reckon if we chase Sheldrick?
What would he cost?

Once you take into account all of NGAs, Compensation picks, F/S picks and Priority picks our pick 34 is already around pick 43 anyway.

The copium in this thread about not getting Dev is insane. Would be best 22 and would have cost us basically no draft capital.
He would be best 22 for about 2 years whilst our young talent developed then depth

Let’s hope Swans throw the kitchen sink at JUH too. Won’t leave much cash left for English but more importantly Buss next year, particularly if Bailey Smith re-signs

Should come down a bit as the NGA and F/S points matching starts.

Yes, which is why he is an unrestricted free agent.
But I get your consternation at them then recieving draft compensation, alas it's how it goes.

Maybe. Later picks actually tend to come in a bit as multiple picks ahead of them start to be absorbed into single selections for FS/Academy.

No Dev, ok come on down Rhys Mathieson!!!! The barometer!

I guarantee he would have improved his testing after his stint if he went to combine

I wouldn't be surprised if he ended up top 5 endurance if he went to combine.

Also that's a years old it's not fair to judge that.

Endurance is the easiest thing to train for new recruit

I don’t agree he would have tested top 5 for endurance at the combine.

But I do agree that endurance improvement as a % from u18 level is one of the easier items to train/rectify.

Would Reid be capable of becoming our best runner? Probably not. But can he get to AFL standard fitness (and does the fact that there is an obvious area of immediate improvement there make him an even more tantalising prospect) - absolutely.

I was really interested to see Reid's testing. Reading above, should we be concerned with his YoYo test? That's pretty damning but not clear whether he was carrying something or not.

If he tested poorly it would have put doubt in our minds surely? And I assume he could have done that to have a better chance to get to a Melbourne club... but he didn't. Anything to read into that?
It's a yoyo test. Have you tried using a yoyo. Those things are so hard. Don't blame Harley for struggling on the yoyo test. Might have had a sore finger is my guess.

Unlock?
Ill summarise for you.

West Coast need a player like Curtin and should trade Reid to accelerate their rebuild that started in 2023.

North Melbourne and Hawthorn can both offer picks in the 40s along with players they are planning to cull for their list.
