At the time I was thinking the clubs involved might be Adelaide (wants pick 1), Carlton (has pick 1), GC (likely to have the early first round compo pick Adelaide needs to satisfy Carlton in exchange for pick 1 if Lynch leaves via FA), and us.
Maybe something like this - totally hypothetical and done on the train after a quick glance at the provisional draft order and rough guesses at who might finish where after the finals are done and dusted, so it's a little rough:
ADEL gets: pick 1 (CARL), early 2nd round pick (GC - ESS pick) - gives them Lukiosus and second round pick around the 23-25 mark.
GC gets: 2 x 1st round picks in 8-12 range (ADEL) - gives them 4 picks inside the top 16 in the draft.
CARL gets: pick 3-4 (GC), 1st round pick (COLL - 13-16 range), player (COLL - Wills?) - still gets a crack at the best midfielder or one of the King boys, an extra first round pick and a player who could help their midfield rotation.
COLL gets: player (McGovern - ADEL), early 2nd round pick (CARL - pick 19 or WB pick 22-25 range) - gets us McGovern for a pick downgrade and a fringe player.
This is just a quick hash job on the train after a brief glance at the indicative draft order and a rough guess at where teams might end up at season's end - seems like everyone gets something they might want / could use?
Again just throwing this out there for the record as a random idea to see what price punters think would be acceptable for Mitch McGovern.

Gaff wont come cheap if he's not happy with the $750k over 5 years and the Eagles are adding a 6th year as reported.
If those reports are correct then someone desperate "looks in the direction of Arden St" will surely throw at least $850-$900k per year at him for sure to try to lure him back to Victoria and at that price we'd be well and truly out of the market for him I'd suspect.

Bit hard to read after 15 Carlton Draughts. I’m 100% sure he has a ghost writer.
I remember him sitting with us at The Rose Hotel watching Scum v Freo and the whole time he was off his guts cracking on to a friend of ours. Would have watched 5 min of the game at best.. then magically a match report with his name appeared on it not an hour later. The bloke is a sleaze, a drunk and a fraud.
Luckily I’m only one of those things (neither the former nor latter).
I think his dog named Tiger writes most of his stuff.

Think we will see Gaff stay and Mitch end up in Perth/Carlton.
I have said all along Carlton should be throwing up pick 1 and trying to land Gaff, Lloyd and Mcgovern they would need to lose Weitering which I think they will.
Still think we are a lock for Lynch, I have always said the biggest key to getting Lynch was winning games that parts mostly done.
Richmond would be a great choice but surely they can't offer more money then us? They have the star FF and he and the family are die hard Collingwood fans.
This just has that Dangerfield to Geelong feel.
Don't think we get May will stay in GC and be captain.
Carlton I think will get Lloyd from Sydney desperate for mids even though he is a back pocket hang out.
Darcy is the interesting one if he can land us May I'm all for it aslong as we land Lynch.
Pies can get Lynch without matching and take 2 first round picks to the draft our pick and Syd pick for Darcy that would be massive.

Won't be with us in the same club as Daisy and Shaw no way Buckley will have them back.
He is a 1 way runner who is cooked do not want.
Loved Beamer, but agree he won't be coming back, didn't leave on good terms. Maybe Roos will throw him that $1M a season they can't seem to get rid of....

We don’t even need Heater or Beams. Beams would improve us but is too injury prone for his price tag, and age is seriously catching up with Heath.
I'd take Beams if the price was right, but I don't disagree with what you are saying.
Shaw, like Cloke, should have/should played their last game in Collingwood colours. But you are right, we actually don't want an aged Shaw unfortunately.
That’s been my thinking all along. They’ll get the pick straight after theirs as well as either:
a) PP at start of draft (before pick 1- haha Carlton)
Or
b) mid first round pick
Or
C) end of first round pick.

Can see the AFL arrive at a decision that is beneficial to a fledgling club like GC.

They couldn't hack reporting to someone they'd played with.
I think they forgot it's their job and that part of a job is to report to a boss who they may or may not like.
Thomas, Beams, Shaw, Jolly... They can all get fkd for all I care. Have your own 2010 reunion tossers. Maybe Darren's wife can organise it - or at least tell Darren how to.
