Ultimate troll would be if Tom picked us now.
I don’t even really care if he comes to us, but the melts would be glorious. They’re way more certain their getting him now than they ever were about Treloar.

Not sure how tigers could afford to have 2 players on reportedly 1.5 million and doesn’t include Rance
For me the salary cap, (at any club) is irrelevant; it's about who he chooses.
Any list manager worth his salt will make it happen.
We brought in a player manager who's lived the life of wheeling and dealing whilst at the same time looking after the player.
If Tom chooses us, (or already has??) it will happen IMO.

Interesting bit on the AFL site that the 1st round pick rule starts to apply this year. So Collingwood must use it's 1st pick this year or next unless we acquire one through a trade.

Interesting, I'd always thought that started in 2019.

Rules this season
Either 2018 or 2019 we have to use a first round pick
Looks like ISSAC will go first round
Will kelly second round
The positive is the flexibity were gonna have as deka explained with amalgamation of points and 25% discount all useable

We're gotta make 3 changes minimum
Could. Be more

But we need FRESH stock

Probably been mentioned..
Are they basing it off that photo of Tom and Balme?
I heard on a podcast which had Richmond’s list manager it was just coincidental timing with Richmond coming back from Sydney

I pretty sure the Rescent Lynch to Tigers Talk is just from that Photo

"Coincidental timing" is a quote straight out of The Stalker's Handbook, along with "I was bird watching" and "I thought this was my house".

Yep the rolling 4-year "window" that began with the introduction of "future year" pick trading in the 2015 draft (for future 2016 draft picks) first kicks in next year (2019), but with us having traded away our 2016 first round pick we need to use a first round pick either this year or next year to meet the requirement of using two 1st round picks in that first 4 year window.

I suspect the main point of the story was that Geelong may potentially be hamstrung when it comes to trades for the next two drafts, as they have to use two first round picks over the 2018-2019 period after trading away their 2016 and 2017 1st round picks

North have to get someone this year, even if it's a b grader like Polec.

This blokes credibility gets shot to pieces with the "Roos haven't even tabled a deal" in regards to Tom Lynch. The Roos aren't even after him.
Pretty sure he had no credibility to shoot to pieces in the first place.

I'm quite comfortable for us to just go to the draft again this year to be quite honest- particularly as there doesn't seem to be too much available that's worthwhile.
Perhaps even find a way to add to our selections or upgrade if possible considering we have a plethora of players off contract.
Strong draft overall in terms of depth, we've also got a couple of the academy boys/ father son options to consider too.

Elliott and Moore are the two clear standouts to retain.
Fas I'd like to keep too if possible.

Greenwood I'd look to ship off.

I’m more of the opinion also that missing out on Lynch is th best option. He is going to take a massive proportion of the teams salary cap in excess of 1 million a year. He is a very talented player however as stats have shown he has beaten up on the small teams and he is also injury prone. More than happy to go to the draft or spend less on someone and Keep the current group we have.

I’m with the growing-minority, and have been for a while, that missing out on Lynch wouldn’t be the worst thing.

I only want Lynch, if we can acquire him as a FA. If we have to trade, I don’t want any part of it. Stephenson is the perfect reason we can’t ship away first-round picks.

IMO the only “certainty” to come from Lynch playing for Collingwood in 2019 is that, it makes it certain that Darcy Moore is our CHB for the next 10 years.

I use the word “certainty” instead of “positive” or “negative” so it’s up to reader’s interpretation.

Has anyone seen much of Alex Keath from the Crows? He looked ok in a couple of games last year from memory...
Think he's been brought up previously, but can't find much about him...

From what I have seen/read:

197cm - taller than our other defenders (outside of Moore)
26yo - only returned to footy last season after pursuing cricket, clearly a talented sportsman
Pretty quick / good closing speed
Long kick (unsure of precision)
Can't get a game at the Crows (played last week with Talia out)
Not OOC 'til end of 2019, unfortunately
Ex Cat B rookie
From Western Vic I think

Can anyone add to this? Opinions?
Could be a decent cheap(ish) option for FB

I’ve been on Alex for a while now. He had a great season last year.

Tom Browne reported the other night that we are now third behind the Tigers and Hawks in the race for Tom Lynch. About two weeks ago, he mentioned on Talking Footy that he believed we were front runners. I’m tipping that like other journos, he makes it up as he goes and in reality, has no idea where he will end up.
