Romanticism aside I'm not sure getting Beams back is the right move (trade price will be too high with him being contracted and Brisbane probably being a tad narky). Would only have 3-4 seasons left him in at 29yo.

Better off investing mid time in Sier, Stephenson, Phillips and Aish moving forward to compliment Pendles, Sidey, Adams, Treloar.

If Lynch doesn't pan out hit the draft with Kelly and Quaynor, re-sign Moore and look to top up with some mature aged KP talent from the state leagues (a la role players like Mihocek).

Latest tweet from former Brisbane coach Justin Leppitsch is "Beamo going no where".
Oh well then, we better rule that out now. LOL.
I'm sure the coaches for many players who have left have said the same thing lol Not sure he will leave, but if he does, coaches usually don't know anything.

Beams was at a bbq at the house of a coterie member when all the stuff was happening around Copeland time. everyone at the small gathering knew what was happening between them.

my first thought last week after watching the interview with his brother was he wants to come back. clearly Bucks has changed in the last 3-4 years and maybe Beams has as well. with all the off field stuff he has going on I'm guessing he would want to play with his mates again rather than go somewhere new.
Absolutley Beams has changed.

From a 'connected' Brisbane Lions member, Beams loved his 1st few years in Brisbane. Young lad able to do young lad things, without the focus of footy, footy, footy all the time. Leppo gave him that environment. How'd that work out?????

Beams changed as he got older, and began to hate the crap culture where most players were on the piss, amongst other things, a lot of the time. Funny, Beams liked when at the Pies when there was only a handful of guys on the piss etc and the rest of the squad keeping the list going. Swap to Brisbane where most of the list are on the piss etc and only a handful keeping the club going. He hated it and craved a more disciplined approach........haha hypocritical much.

Age brings wisdom and a sense of reality.

Sounds more and more like Tarrant. We need to flag, and that he made a mistake and wants to come back and play for minimum chips and the privelage of donning the black and white stripes to make it a complete replica.

Could we land Beams, May and keep Moore? Firstly from a salary cap perspective it would be tough but also from a trade perspective. If Brissy wanted a first rounder for Beams, then we would probably need to use whatever we get for Moore to land May unless we want to trade future picks (a three way trade between Suns, Pies and Sydney would be ideal if Moore leaves.)

No chance in Hell unless we trade a Star Out

Big Vic club after Wingard. Bet it’s the Hawks.
If we haven't asked the question then I have no idea what Guy is doing. We should be in a position to land a big fish this off season and I'll be disappointed if we don't.

Not sure if it has been mentioned but via SEN:

He said Beams — the former Brisbane skipper who has two years to run on his contract with the Lions — was a strong chance to leave Queensland and be picked up by his former club Collingwood. “I still think Dayne Beams is on the move,” Watson told SEN Breakfast. “I’m hearing possibly Collingwood. He would like to go back to Collingwood. Whether they can get that deal done, I don’t know, but that’s what I’m hearing.”

I'd be staggered if Clarkson didn't want Roughead to play out his final contracted season in 2019 at the Hawks.
Clarko stated on AFL 360 last night that he had recently met with Roughie and had the same discussion with him as he had with Hodgey, Lewis and Mitchell. Clarko stated he wanted Roughie to think about his future in 3-6 years and not just next year. Clarko said there were about 6 options for Roughie incl. playing on with the Hawks

I bet it’s us!

Depending on price, I wouldn't mind Wingard - but just play him as a crumbing small fwd/HFF, rather than relying on him to consistently do much in the midfield.
But that just comes down to how keen Port are to get rid of him, and what the market is like for him. If it's gonna cost a significant amount ($ or trade) then probably no.

Also if its a choice of Beams or Wingard - I'd take Beams, even with the age gap. But I think recruiting either is a luxury at this stage and should only happen if cheap, or if there's $ left over after adding to our KP stocks.

Wonder if Elliiot would consider a move in this years trade. Obviously worth more to us than other clubs given his injury history , but wondering whether he plays a part in bargaining to get a Wingard or a Beams.
