Thought I'd start a list of potential FA + trade targets for the end of 2024.

Post any names you'd like me to add to list - I'll place your name beside player.

I'll keep updating the list then mark if they re-sign.

At the end of the year just before trade period we can cut-paste the list into posts and each guess:

• "true" value if we had the currency
• What we would give up given our actual picks / players if they nominated us (or $$$ in terms of FA value)

I’d be very loath to trade away our 2025 first, we could be falling off a very large cliff by then.

Not sure we would give away another future 1st when we would need to use two in 4 years and so then 2026 would be our next opportunity — isn’t that when Tassie prob starts to get the concessions at the draft?

If we don’t have a lot of currency at the trade table in terms of draft picks we either have to package up second round picks with a Pies player or focus on unrestricted free agents which cost only cap space and list spots or restricted free agents which will may require a trade of some sort to get the deal done. Although we can probably do both I’d personally prefer that we go after unrestricted free agents and keep our draft picks.

I was mainly referring to which player would want to come. Deals aren't always easy but if he nominates us then a future first could be part of it.

I guess - but there's always outliers - if we were able to entice both Hayward and McDonald from the Swans, I'd package up players and as many of our picks as it required.

Particularly if we bring in some excellent FA signings / Cat B signings (ala Will Parker )

(and everyone knows my thoughts on getting the Cats back with a low offer for Holmes)
