In all likelihood the trade/s are done, but the AFL is in the entertainment industry and dragging the trades out for clicks and content is a win for them and their sponsors.
The melts here a ****ing funny though.
Amazing how many trades happen in the last hour

Caller: “what is the Collingwood offer for 13?”

3 blokes getting paid to talk trades: “absolutely no idea”

Damo "We dont like talking about picks swap situations only pure trades"

LOL

Same guy who last week said pick 6 is overs for Rioli.

That pick 20 could - if we choose the club wisely - be a future top 5-6 draft pick. If we can nail the club that is likely to finish bottom 5 next year, then pick 20 could get a hell of a lot better.

The club needs to make enough picks to replace the outs mate

Pickett, Dusty. Grimes. Graham. Naismith - thats 5 picks already.

This is even before we have delisted a single bloke.

If we trade pick 20 for a future first, then we go to this draft with 1,24,51 + 4 picks over 70.

Trading excess picks for an upgrade is a fine strategy - but trading out half your picks you actually need to use BEFORE you have gotten the replacement picks just makes the pressure to make a deal on you more.

Fremantle have reportedly offered picks 10, 11 and 18 on the table in exchange for Richmond pair Shai Bolton and Liam Baker.

The AFL media is an absolute joke. If this Geelong for instance and Holmes and Dempsey wanted out of long term contracts, ALL the media would be saying "these guys have long term contracts and the cats are well within their rights to get the best deal or they keep them". But because it's Richmond the narrative is the complete opposite
