Sam Davison from our VFL, if he lasts that long
You don’t have to keep a pick for that. At the end of the draft you can go past your last points pick nbr, provided you haven’t previously passed and have a list spot available.

Exactly. The club has pissed away a dynasty and gone from Premiership Cups to empty KFC buckets.

Club has targeted exactly zero young talent, or even competent back-up. If Kosi last year was underwhelming, what the f do you call ZERO the next season? Seem unable to get even close to the value of the players leaving & have now traded away the only strength they had - which was, they had enough picks to just "stick fat" & go to the draft and force their players to stay if the new clubs want to play "chicken"

By trading away 4 picks for 1, it now means we actually don't have enough decent picks to fill the "outs" on our roster - lol. So why the f are clubs like GC, Freo & WCE going to flinch, when they know we have already traded out all the 2nd-3rd rounders in expectation that we will end up getting a swag of picks for Rioli, Baker & Bolton - and gave away, for ****ing nothing, the pick we got for Graham? All we did is create more urgency on our side to get the deals "done". At the moment we will be taking 2-3 picks in the 60s+ IF we can't get deals done for Bolton. We literally took the pants off in the deal, gave them to GC, Freo & WC - then bent over to empty their dishwasher. Why would you do that? We now need to make those deals to go to the draft with a decent hand.

There is no "art of the deal" here - more like "fart of the deal".

Why the f did we just trade 4 picks for 1 when we needed those picks to fill out the roster? You do this trade AFTER you secure the highest reward possible for your outgoing players ffs & when you actually don't need them anymore. As it stands, without those picks, our draft hand is far far worse
Fair melt. Did lol

Mate, i have watched over 40 seasons of footy, i don't need to wait for nothing to finish. People said the same thing with this season. I watched the whole thing and i will give you a hint...... shit can always get worse and it will
Not trying to tell you how to be a fan, and I get where you're coming from. I used to be just as pessimistic about this footy club, especially before the flags – and for good reason. But over time, I realised that being negative didn’t change the outcome nor how I felt when the outcome happened. It’s not like you feel any better just because you predicted we've f**d it all up. Especially when it's constant pessimism with no optimism.

If things fall apart, we’ll both be upset either way.

But least with a more positive outlook, you might enjoy the ride a bit more. We're getting in a bunch of picks, a bunch of new players to watch develop, new heroes, and hopefully a new rise.

With the trades the least you can do is wait till they're actually confirmed

You need a holiday !

How can anyone be happy with the "Pick 20" deal - seriously??

Lets compare some details here.

Lions NEEDED draft points more than we needed to trade out all our picks BEFORE securing new picks for Bolton, Baker, Rioli....

We trade Pick 32, 42,43,45 for a single pick 20

The Demons just got Pick 9 for 28, 40, 46, 54 and 65

So the Demons got a pick 11 spots higher in the draft by giving up less quality picks than what we just gave up.

Edit: Yep i missed the future first in the deal. Will keep it unedited for the giggles

Are we grown ups here? Does this not seem to underline how shit our deal was?? :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy:

So busy being outraged you missed the biggest piece of the trade.

Frustrated George Costanza GIF

It’s bewildering to me that you think the club “doesn’t get it” yet you, an internet forum poster does and you’re somehow more in tune with how best to manage our draft hand.

Graham left as a free agent (so the compensation isn’t accurate value) the pick we got for him is virtually useless. To bundle them up and attain pick 20 was a great move imo as pick 20 could still be a really solid player in this draft, not to mention with the other picks coming our way, we couldn’t have used all those later picks anyway
Let’s be honest, it’s been amazing how long it’s taken for him to go nuclear.
