It’s understood the main reason the Suns would abort the complex three-way trade is because North Melbourne has blown rivals out of the water for Gold Coast’s pick 13.

The Kangaroos’ enthusiasm in getting that pick has grown significantly since Melbourne pulled out of the running by doing a deal with Essendon for pick 9.

North Melbourne has a future first round pick on the table for Gold Coast’s pick 13, but has now added more draft capital on top of that future pick that will most likely be high at the end of 2025.

No they havent. Melbourne's whole list strategy over the past 5-6 years is to buy into drafts with future picks, they'll do exactly the same should they choose to do it next year. Its 'their' way and you could argue that its been a very successful strategy. Having 5 & 9 is massive for them. They beat so many other clubs that wanted pick 9 as well.

I just don't see how WC get the Baker trade done currently.
Highly doubt we want future picks, so they're gonna need to split pick 3, or slightly downgrade it with us to 6 and something else.

FWIW the deals I have being done which I knoww will not be everyone's ideal scenario:

Bolton to Dockers for 10, 18 & 30

Baker & 30 to WCE for 8 & 26 who get 7, 8 & 27 from Saints for 3 & 26.

Rioli 51, 61, 70 to Suns for 6 & 23

Leaves us with:
1, 6, 8, 10, 18 20, 23, 24, 26 & 76

I would have absolutely no problem if we managed to pull that haul off
