Pies 2025

Yeah I'm not so sure. Houston is elite, Perryman walks in to their best side. Degoey fit. McStay back. Queries over their Key positions though.
Think they are making the exact same mistake we did
Over estimated the list and neglected Youth, especially with that lack of key position stocks they are on very rocky ground imo
Yeah potentially. Might as well have a crack though.

and look how that ended
Yes but hindsight is always a wonderful thing.

just can't fault them for thinking it, and going for it.

But it is scary watching them give up all their picks this year and their first pick next year, to do it.

Failing to get that Premiership could really hurt them. But in the end of the Day this is a business where Premierships are the number 1 goal.

Big job trying to work out what picks will be used up as bids come in.

Ashcroft at 2 = 2000 pts costs picks 27-34-42-43

Lombard at 6 = 1400 pts, 39 goes to 38, 41 to 39, 51 to 47 & 61 to 57 = 1409 pts

GCS can afford to match a bid at 6 without going into deficit

We don't blink here mate.
If we were happy with 10 and 18 it would have already been done.
Freo will offer up 10 and 11. They shot themselves in the foot when they offered 10, 11 and 18 for both Bolton and Baker.
Agree, it isn’t often I’d actually go down this path but I would legit pull the offer off the table if they continue to be staunch.

Lick dick status for the purple

Big US sports podcaster, has created a bit of a podcast empire for himself. Somewhat outspoken etc.
Article in the West Australian posted about an hour ago saying we are still holding firm on 10 + 11👍 Can’t post the article as it’s subscribers only

We are losing our 3 best mid aged players, Graham and 7 picks after 24 for 6 picks between 6 and 23. It’s not as great as it sounds and we need to maximise the picks we get back.

Remember all those picks we already had we earned by trading away higher picks.
It is as great as it sounds. We're losing good players, but theyre guys who are in their peak which is little use to us now. By the team we need them they will be nesting the end of that peak

To get something good, you have to give up something good. These guys have all done as well and asked our, as we wouldn't have pushed them, through perhaps luck we've also stumbled into deals were the teams have the assets to get us a good deal. Imagine if Freo didn't do th trades last year and only had 1 mid first rounder or if Rioli wasn't wanting to go to a team that didn't value a freaking pick #6. We could've easily been in a Houston situation where we have to let them go for unders as they just don't have the assets to give us.

Who the **** cares about the picks in the 30s and 40s. Who cares how many we had, they are trash picks. Do you even remember how we got most of them? We got half of them for free by downgrading our trash picks from last year.

I honestly can't believe someone's not happy about 8 top 24 picks because we had to give up 7 picks that were almost all past 40 BEFORE f/s and academy picks

why has the Rioli trade not been done yet???

more amateurism???

other clubs do not muck around

You mean the other 17 clubs that have done about five players related trades in 9 days, all pretty simple swaps for a singular pick? We're playing hardball and that meant GCS had to figure out what picks they were giving up for their three-team trade just done.

Be patient, we'll get our pick 6 and first rounder - go have a smoke.
