... so why not have 2 wins when we can just have 1 win? Yeah, makes sense.Who cares? We'd have Harley Reid.

Added benefit to the above is that Carlton may not have the points needed to match a bid for Cody Walker in 2026 if they finish high enough.Could see us doing something like...
Trading one of our 2025 1sts + 2026 3rd to Adelaide for their 2025 + 2026 1st rounders + 2026 2nd round
Trading Adelaide's 2025 + 2026 first rounders, our 2027 1st rounder, and Steely Green to West Coast for Harley Reid and their 2026 2nd rounder.
- Keeps one of our 2025 picks for Rodriguez.
- Keeps our 2026 1st rounder to grab Armstrong/Walker, as well as trading in West Coast and Adelaide's 2nd rounders to help with points needed for those 2 + Leys Jr.
- Trades out of the heavily Tassie compromised 2027 draft when we'll be moving up the ladder (remember when we finished bottom 6 in 2011 and our 1st pick was Pick 14? **** that.)
1%There's not a ****ing chance we end up with Cody Walker. 0.
Nup
There is a chance but probably less than 10%There's not a ****ing chance we end up with Cody Walker. 0.
What could he have possibly shown to make that contract at all prudent? There is a chance but probably less than 10%
Offer him a extension the day after he is drafted for 3 years on $3 million
That will blow Carlton out of the park
And by then we have $10,000,000 extra in the cap
how do we get both tdk and Ldu and harley and fredImagine a totating midfield of;-
1) Nank, Harley Reid, Smillie, Rodriguez
2) DeKoning, Lalor, Sharp, Davies-Uniake
And its not impossible.
We'd be pretty much unstoppable
Yes it isImagine a totating midfield of;-

We;; if he is as hood as whats being made out its effectively buying a player like reid for cashWhat could he have possibly shown to make that contract at all prudent?
All our early picks from this year (if they’ve been even semi decent) will expect the same and that’s how you get into Gold Coast levels of crap salary cap management
Look mate let the baby have its bottle
Dekoning-Rather we chase Nank mk2.
Rowell-Do we need another bull?
Lohman- wait & see.One year wonder?
Ried-Who wouldn't.
Crows would kill for Sharp.
Pick 1 for Crows 1st & Soligo I'd look at.
Too slow and inside IMO.Some of these latest draftees we have are pretty damaging kicks I think - esp Lalor & Smillie. So Rowell getting it out to them might not be the worst formula. Taranto is more suited to playing high half forward. Hopper-Rowell-Lalor-Smillie as the 4 inside mids could work well.
YuckyI'd happily give up picks 1 and 2 for Harley Reid.
I'd happily give up picks 1 and 2 for Harley Reid.
No-brainer.I'd happily give up picks 1 and 2 for Harley Reid.
Absolute stupidity! Locking in a 3 Million commitment to a novice player who may just be a bust. Take your hate Carlton goggles off and use some common sense. There is a chance but probably less than 10%

We need to inject pace into the midfield. If we’re after a high profile type then we should be chasing a player like Butters. Not Rowell. Rowell is a very good player, however, we have already got bull types need dash & skill.Too slow and inside IMO.
I went through the last 10 years of drafts and there are only a handful where I would take that deal. Particularly when Reid has only had 1 year so I am assuming he is as good as he is touted to be. So in essence the base rate probability is no deal.Yucky
