No I didn't see that.
I like Ballantine ( as a player) but didn't like who you suggested going out the door.
Just my 2 cents.

He's saying they're very similar I assume.
Well, he's had a better year than Ellis, Newman, Grigg, Lambert, Edwards, Houli, Hunt, Conca...
I'm not saying he's the answer. I'm saying he'd make us better.
He is Moneyball

Ellis has comparable stats but 8-9 years younger and getting better.
Newman has retired
Grigg has played a different role. Can Stanton play as a run with player? Nope
Lambert more an inside contested ball winner. Once again totally different position to Stanton
Edwards.........please the kid was in All Australian form prior to his injury. Way better than Stanton and younger
Houli has more runs on the board, specialist on kickouts and excels at that (Minus the blip )
Hunt more a lock down defender, once again not a role Stanton can play
Conca was injured all year, another inside mid, different role.
So off all there you mentioned really only Ellis and Houli you can compare. Hes not taking Houlis spot and although his stats are comparable you take a 21 year old Ellis whos still improving over a 29 year old Stanton whos about to start slowing down.
He is Moneyball but as an outside runner id rather persist with Ellis and McIntosh and even Menadue to a degree. Far better for our future and with not a lot to be gained.
One area we really struggled in last year was points for. We still need goal kickers and thats precisely why id prefer to see Stevie J to come in and play permanent forward.
Now, now, we all know that stats don't lie when they support your position and stats do lie when they don't support your position.
We already did a month ago and he backflipped by choosing collingwood.we could trump pies by offering our first 2 pics for this year and next.
Didn't like hearing Dan Richardson coming out and saying “Ideally we would have liked to have got an elite mid like (Adam) Treloar, but that’s not going to happen"...
Pies offering their pick 7 and a 2nd rounder for next year surely we could trump pies by offering our first 2 pics for this year and next....treloar had us and pies as his preferred until u chose pies, surely GWS would much prefer 2 first rounders and have no doubt GWS could easily push the deal back to Richmond....
Do we actually want to use our war chest? or are we scared to spend up big, look players like danger and treloar u have to go above n beyond in payment terms...
Wacnott i like itBut he is not Moneyball!!!
The objective is winning premierships and Stantons career is not in our window!!!
Ok so lets go through them.

Any uncontracted player, and some contracted, is floated. If the club see's enough benefit to a trade then they'd do it.Bro's 30th sat night so no time between Bathurst shootout etc & that, seems i didn't miss much anyway.
i have the last 3 AFL Prospectus's, Townsend not a great kick or ball winner, he's a Tagger which we have not had since Jacko left.
DrMike Lennon well covered elsewhere on here but Grigg's contract is almost up & i not seen much if any talk about him anywhere, is he up for Trade?
I don't think he had a better year than Ellis, and you're stats would suggest they were on a par.Well, he's had a better year than Ellis, Newman, Grigg, Lambert, Edwards, Houli, Hunt, Conca...

Still waiting for a single, objectively measurable, basis upon which you justify your moronic stance.
I won't hold my breath.
Stanton goes alright, Ive always seen him as the ultimate downhill skier though.. When the tough gets going Stanton isnt in the game
He didn't say that. Just said they're very similar players and Stanton had a marginally better year going off stats.lol so youre on the stanton is better than ellis wagon?
woweeeee, stick to obsessing over liverpool dude

Clearly one is younger and part of our future, the other could be a 1 or 2 year stop gap that this year would've made us better.
Really! Where did I even intimate that?lol so youre on the stanton is better than ellis wagon?
