Picks 1 to 5 this year are fairly even. There is no Harley Reid or Jason Horne-Francis. So pick 1 is worth about pick 3 and half.

Cumming could be a good replacement for Rioli while Travaglia develops

I think it really depends on Grahams compo. If it’s band 3 we’d probably be mad to give it up. We would be better off trading for Cumming assuming he won’t attract more than band 3.

Of course there is always the option Graham resigns, and we sign Cumming, Perryman and Peatling, and still end up with 6 first round picks.

Pick 1 gives us first choice of all available talent and you back your recruitment team to select the player most likely to be the best player in the class.

Now it doesn't always mean that you end up with the best player though due to development injuries etc, but unless we're getting massive overs you don't trade out.
