If CCJ and Chol both go the best result would be.

CCJ to Gold Coast as we will get a better trade.

Chol to North as they will offer more money so we will get better compensation. Trade the Chol pick to upgrade a pick or trade it for a future pick to work towards another year of having a strong draft hand.

If we lose both I would want us to try and recruit Ricardi from GWS. Wouldn’t cost much either and as a forward I actually think he is a better fit for our game plan than Chol and CCJ and a better replacement for Jack (not that Jack can be replaced)

I hope Soldo comes back from that knee ready to go and Ryan has a big preseason and adds some size.

If this happens I can handle both CJ and Chol leaving, assuming the compensation is adequate

I wouldn't say far better at all. Shai is silky, I find Petracca a bit messy with his disposal. He finds plenty of it and has a great burst, but a bit dangerfield like with sloppy disposal.
Shai is just as dynamic, although he is less powerful as Petracca, but what he lacks in power, he makes up for in different ways I.e his leap, forward craft and silkiness.
If shai gets an equal amount of time on the ball as to what petracca gets, I think he would easily be an equal to Petracca if not better.

You know, he’s managed by Ralph Carr who generally wants his players to stay at their club if offered a fair deal. He won’t demand overs so I’d keep him IF CCJ were to walk, but I don’t think CCJ will

Petracca is in the top 5 players in the comp for me and the closest thing to Dusty. Shai is good but he is no where near Petracca’s level.

We should trade chol/CCJ for top picks in next years draft so we secure a strong hand next year regardless of ladder position.

By all means trade chol to anyone who wants him; he is never going to make it at Richmond.

CCJ is our next full forward unless we get someone via FA. We need to get our heads around this. We are too far down the road development wise to escape it.

Maybe it is bias, Petracca isn't top 5 for mine though.
I find him more like Danger. They both burst out of stoppages and look like they are always in fast forward and don't slow to use the ball. Dusty finds space/time or makes space/time and is a far better user of the ball.

Also given Shai doesn't get the opportunities on ball that Petracca gets, it's a bit harsh on Shai. I feel his ceiling is just as high as Petracca's. I'm not saying he is at the level yet, I believe he can definitely get there though.
