I disagree, if we rate the player we tend to get value for them, CCJ for pick 19. If we don't rate the player as highly then we do let them go (Butler & Higgins to saints) but I don't believe it hurts us, if anything other clubs are more willing to deal with us because we aren't wasting their time. (like Essendon).

We play a long game, if we are good to deal with, then when a bigger name player wants to come to us, its more likely the deal gets done. We didnt pay overs for Taranto, I think it was a deal that worked for both clubs. I'm just hoping we get Hopper as well, which hearing from both parties I reckon a deal will happen.
spot on - it's not just about one deal, so many other factors in play (cap space and how you'd use it, draft points, player attitude, how much we rate the player, relationship with the other party and wanting to keep them sweet if we already have eyes on a future deal...)

Just when you thought the Druggos were a basket case….they’ve plumbed new depths of rshiteness…
their weirdo CEO resigns afterapprox 24 hours in the job…lol

they didn’t check out his CV? Due diligence? The clowns on the board should resign in embarrassment

couldn’t have happened to a more self absorbed, self entitled club….they should throw in the towel and move to Tasmania

Good to see the Bombers did their due diligence before hiring their new CEO 😂 FMD! How incompetent can you get!!

Lynch still has plenty of football in him. I get if he goes down than we’re in strife but so all all teams who lose their key forward.

No matter how much I prefer Balta behind the ball we persisted all pre season at him playing forward, probably why he never got going. Gibcus also showed a little there. I personally think our next FA will be a KPF. I don’t know who’s coming up but that’s where we’ll splash the cash and not have to worry about giving draft picks imo. Or just give the farm to GC for Ben King.

We’d have to lose a fair bit but our list management have addressed that we can’t defend the ball around the contest, we’re the highest scoring team so by nullifying the impact of other teams mids dominated ours, count us in for the 2023 flag..
Blairs been in kings ear since he was 18

Got a little chubby from two men talking about two other men.

It more than moved a little yes.

You can tell Lying was finding it very difficult to say something positive about us.

AFL.com.au says McDonald tipingwuti considering coming out of retirement. Hope he considers Richmond rather than going back to the failed club he retired from. Big fan of his forward pressure, would be a great mentor for M.Rioli and great depth to put pressure on small forward slots
Tippa is a total spud. Has a terrible work ethic.

I mean how hard is it?…..a simple Google search would have informed the EFC about the savage criticism pf Thorburn by the Banking Royal Commission when he was CEO of NAB!….it was public knowledge…however the dumbass EFC board are clueless…

that crap club deserve the misery…supporters should demand a massive clean out of the board

Whispers Paddy Dow may be interested in a move to the Tigers

It's an opinion piece with no actual substance behind his trade destination.

Yes your wright but sometimes 2+2 does = 4
Dow does appear to be able to get the ball and is a good size so the coaches may find a place for him - maybe the rookie list?

They'll probably end up trading their future first and just going into deficit next year.

I’ve done the sums previously… it’s not enough.
My sums had them being around 700 points in deficit and that was using ALL of their draft picks this year and next.

Ashcroft and Fletcher will require 2,400 and 700 odd points. Dunkley will require this years first and a F1. Plus Gunston as a FA will take away the McStay pick or Lions will need to give a late pick for Gunston.

So with their current suite of picks they are stuffed as we’ve set the precedent with 12 & 19 for TT . A small little taste of sweet revenge for the EF debacle.

They will need to either get Bowes and pick-7 (seems unlikely as he’s coming to Vic I think), or they desperately need to trade out a high quality player.

Unless the AFL change their rules and allow the trading of picks 2-years in advance …. wouldn’t put it past them in order to help a QLD club thrive.

Getting King is a no brainer IMO, just hope we have plenty of cap space available when the time comes because the bigger offer will win. End of 2024 we should have our 1st rounder back and will most likely have to throw in our 2025 1st round as well.

It will mean that we wont be using a 1st round pick for 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025, if we can get Hopper too, but I think our list is perfectly balanced even when some of our champs retire.
Think I heard somewhere. Its been over a decade since Geelong had a 1st rnd pick.

May as well end the AFL if we get King. Everything and one will melt faster then the ice caps.

Also makes sense. Dusty and Big sexy will be off in contract in 1 and 2 seasons respectively at end of next year. That’s a big salary cap hole.
AFL already very nervous

I have them needing to trade out a player/s for pick 18 just to cover Dunkley, Ashcroft and Fletcher, they'll need more to cover the Gunston deal.

Pity we don't have anything to offer as I think if we shake the tree then something fruitful might drop out.

Lol what why? If it bothers you just do something else?
Im confused.

I want hops now.
