The last player Essendon need. Another midget that's not physically imposing at all. But they won't be able to help themselves. Going to be funny when they overpay massively for him.

I think all of that makes sense if Gresham's asking price salary wise was within about his market value + 10-15%. To me he is clearly below what you would pay for a marquee level player. In recent years you might have put him at $450k value, maybe $475k. Let's add the recent salary inflation onto that, so say $520k. Then add his 10-15% premium for being a free agent. This takes him up to about $580k or so. I don't think I would offer more than that under the new TPP arrangements. That probably gets Saints a second round pick in compo. If they didn't match, and let him go for that sort of compo, which would be around pick 35 for them I think, you would start to suspect something was wrong.

Not sure I can see it happening unless you see us offering $750k+. He has a tidy record but I don't think he is that level of player.

They need to sit and discuss. The way Richmond work, Hartley and Livingstone are assembling the list and although Yze has his beliefs, he's going to have more of a say in the next 6-12 months. Harmes is more likely now though. Yze's role will be to establish his gameplan, give his players clarity about their role, assemble his coaching group and drilling the gameplan during the summer. We will lose six months in 2024 as we adjust to the gameplan, if we can make it 3 months, that's great. So lots of hard work from a coaching, mentoring, relationship building perspective, not going to have a presence too much with regards to list management at this current time.

Reckon you'll see a few Melbourne role players seeking some trades to Richmond in the next 12-24 months. Hartley loves the moneyball, and Yze has such established relationships with that team. Guys like Fritsch, Langdon, etc, but there are priorities and before requesting players to fit his list, he's gotta assess the list at his disposal first

Thanks. Don't see a spot for Harmes though. He's not getting a game ahead of Taranto, Hopper, Prestia or Bolton in the middle. We need an injection of foot skills and pace, Harmes has neither.

Apart from Dusty, none of our current half fwds can find another by foot without resorting to a long, high ball.

Baker's foot skills much more prominent when he's coming off half back, while Mansell is clearly there as a pressure player rather than for foot skills. Clarke and Cumbo better with their field kicking than their ability to find those shorter targets (I'm talking about those 20-30m short kicks when the player is about 60-65m away from goal and need to find a target).

Coulthard showed a bit in his first appearance vs Hawthorn, but he executed with not much pressure in finding fwd 50 targets in an open 50, whereas Spargo has shown he can do it when under pressure kicking into a more crowded fwd line.

My point is just because GWS & Pies rebounded quickly it doesn't necessarily mean that we will as well. Like everyone I hope that we do as there is nothing better than us being in contention for the flag, but I'm not thinking it's just going to happen and I'm not suggesting that you're saying that either.

He had a decent game last week but he's fairly underwhelming overall. Would prefer we got games into Judson or Coulthard.

He's been around for 5 years now and I'm yet to see him break a game open or do anything out of the ordinary.
