Trade Shane Tuck?

Its a closer reality to what we would need to do if we were to chase Kerr than what others offer but its indigestible and its a terrible message to players.

Hence the downside of getting someone like Kerr.

Put in a season like he has and then become trade bait and do nothing and stay at the club since there will be an absence of interest from other clubs.

Id love Kerr at the club but I know that the price would be to hard to swallow and would have detrimental effect. Have to learn to produce our own champions.

Love Tucks approach, so do other Richmond fans at games.

kerr is pretty shit Anyway.. he was amde to look good playing with Judd Cousins and cox.. Without them hes Useless.

Tuck had a better season than Kerr, yet you would still throw pick 8 in with him?

Keep Tuck

come on mate read it properly before you comment

the only way i would trade Tuck was if it was in deal involving Kerr + (hopefully not) pick 8

west coast most likely wouldnt agree with this anyway and i think i would be happyer with pick 8 and Tuck

Hey guys be nice, the OP was just trying to raise a talking point and it's clear we all rate Tuck as a highly valuable member of our team.

Tuck is 26, but you would be better of looking at him as a 22 year old such as Foley due to the likely longevity of the career ahead of him.

Some facts about Shane's year - he was equal to the #1 midfielder in the comp over the 2nd half of the season. He has been the #1 contested ball winner, #1 clearance winner and his disposal has been very accurate.

Since he is a Tuck I think he is built to last ;)

He will play a Scott West role for us between 2011-2015.

No way. Why trade a player who will still be good when you're premiership window is about to be open, and currently is in your top 2 players for a speculative draft pick who could turn out to be another JON. Keep all our gun players under 28. You don't see the Cats making threads like "Trade Bartel" or "Trade Joel Corey"

Tucky's season has been as good as Joel Corey's. There is no way we are going to get a good price for him and it could be unsettling. Hold.

Let me first say that I think Shane Tuck is a great player, but that is part of the reason I think we should trade him if we can get something good for him. Though if we keep him I will be just as happy.

My thinking goes like this. He has had a great year this year and he is about 26 years old and has about 6 years left. He should fetch a very good price in the trade market. We have Couglan coming back next year and his form late in the VFL indicates that he is likely to regain close to his previous form. With the Gold Coast team coming in a few years it would be wise to get another early draft pick. To be honest if it wasn't for the Gold Coast team coming in, I would have said Tuck was almost untouchable in the trade period.

Obviously if we don't get offered anything reasonable then we should keep him. What I would expect is a mid first round pick for him (6-11) or a late first round pick (12-16) plus a good player. Anything less than that just wlk away from the trade.

Trade probably our best clearance player and let our young mids get smashed about because we have no tough developed players

Pin all hopes on a bloke who has had two knee reco's and had a year ruined with chronic hamstring problems

All for maybe a 2nd rounder...

Creative suggestion I'm sure but I think I'll pass...
