Huh, reading through the high pick we want for Ryan articles, I came across this..

..we offered him just under $500 000 a year for 3 years and he turned his back on it.

Does anyone actually think we'd do the $600 000 (he does demand 600, for arguments' sake)?

Can anyone cite any actual quotes from either the player, the club or the manager that gives ANY of these figures any credibility?
Many have already pointed out a lot of this is just speculation and guesswork.

Re: Mark Seaby

 Not sure why we'd want him, seems like a very soft and awkward looking player. We have Playpoor and LRT already.

Well, I'd assume they were right because thats what I expected him to be on, more or less a little.

But yeah, just speculation and guesswork.

The difference between what he wants and what he's being offered is still the same regardless of whether he's payed 100K or 500K though, so its at least an apt scenario?

Re: Mark Seaby

I know the swans won't get him but what do you reckon they'd need to offer to get cox. He's such a great player. On the other hand the swans have a history of turning unknowns into great players so if you can get seaby at the right porice then get him!

unknowns into GREAT players! WHO ?

I believe he made some reference to it on Channel 10 news, but I wasn't watching, and I understand there is a sports news wire story about it ... which quotes him telling Channel 10. But it wasn't a lead, he was being asked about recruiting young key forwards.

Eade said the Dogs were interested in Hall but that Hall wants to stay in Sydney and that it's unlikely he'll change clubs.

Cox is untradeable.

Ted Richards....
Darren Jolly
Martin Mattner
Craig Bolton

On the AFL site there is an article confirming what was said before about Hall and Doggies He wants to stay in SYDNEY YIPEE

I wouldn't say all 4 players are great. Ted is a very solid defender, Jolly could be classed as a great ruckman, Mattner is just as good as he was at the Crows and Bolton would fit in to the "great" category, too.

Marty Mattner is NOT great.
Bolton (possibly "great") and Jolly have become very, very good, and winning a premiership enhances their records. Richards is on the way to very, very good.
I still have several question marks over Mattner.

Re: Mark Seaby

FOR those of you who hate threads on players leaving other clubs, there's a thread just gone on the main board claiming Mark Seaby has quit the Weagles.

He'd be a better prospect than Simon Taylor and a whole lot cheaper than Dean Cox.

And if we signed him he might start to shut up about the mark he was going to take and the goal he was going to kick to win the 2005 premiership.

It was all a big conspiracy wasent it he choked on purpose!! I would like to see him at Sydney as you guys will bring out the best in him and I could see him playing regularly there. Your second rounder would be a good trade.

inter alia

Roos said he remained puzzled by O'Keefe's decision to test the waters outside Sydney, and expected the All-Australian was only a 50-50 chance to remain in Sydney colours next year.

SYDNEY coach Paul Roos is confident that Andrew Lovett can become a less wayward player both on and off the field should the Swans secure him from Essendon during next week's trade period.

Thoughts on.

Carlton gives: pick 6, Brad Fisher/3rd rounder
Carton get: O'Keefe, pick 11

Ok I even cop it on BF, EVEN here, for being vague and cryptic posts, so let me essssplain!

---------

Why try to predict something as vague as a potential trade deal. Often the recruiters don't and can't come to any consensus or agreement until the last 30 mins of trade week!

Are you trying to work out what ROK maybe worth and whether Swans are happy for Fisher and 3rd rounder plus slight elevation of round one.... for for ROK !

ROK's in your head!:p

Suggest you read what Roos has said already!

-----------

But get on the suggested lotto numbers this Saturday they could be right:thumbsu:

(More chance than your suggested trade deal)

So there is a possibility he'll go, but I need to get in front of Ryan over the next 24 hours and see where he's at. We'll see what happens but at this stage I'd say it would be a 50-50.("Paul Roos on Ryan O'keefe)
Looks like tonighht's Club Champ Function could be a bit more lively than first thought!Reckon they spend alot of time on opposite sides of the room?
