Here is my trade idea.

Carlton trades pick 6 and garlett to essendon
Essendon trades pick 19 to Carlton and Ryder to port
Port trade O'Shea and pick 16 to Carlton

Would be interested in seeing a few constructive posts outlining how we could land KJ and Membrey.

And ... Go!

#27 for jaksch.. 3rd rounder (from any of garlett/lucas/robbo swaps) for Membrey

19, 16 and O'shea for 6 and Garlett? Depends who we have in mind for 6 I suppose, but not the worst scenario that will be floated today.

You reckon you could you flesh out that last part?
Which player to which club and for which pick?
There doesn't seem to be much love for any of those guys according to Shane Rogers.

Trade our second round pick for Jaksch.

Trade our third round pick to the Bulldogs for Jones (and possibly Tutt if they're feeling generous)

Hope that we get a third round pick as compensation for losing Waite and then on-trade that for Membrey.

Draft a gun with our first rounder.

happy with that outcome.

Would sending six to gws in exchange for kj and a later pick which we could send to swans for Membrey work? KJ and Membrey for pick 6?

Some have mentioned other picks. Not sure where #14 and #18 have come into the equation. Must have missed it back there somewhere. Swans are using their first rounder for Heeney.

Based on what we know we have at the moment. The only way forward is:

Carlton lose #6, gain Jaksch, Membrey and GWS second rounder #22+
GWS gain #6, lose Jaksch, #22 and 3rd rounder #40+ as they won't be using all of these anyway
Swans gain #40, lose Membrey

If Carlton can turn #6 into Jaksch and #14ish, we may have to bite the bullet and do a separate deal for Membrey.

It really depends on who we are looking at in the draft. Eagles gave up a decent pick for two later first rounders because Sheed was going to fall.

Jaksch will come into our side right away as a developed players. Durdin wouldn't. Really depends on upside of Jaksch IMO.

Would be fantastic. Really needs Jaksch to be firm as Docherty was last year.

Sounds like we'll need to give up a little more for KJ, but this would be a decent result.

It's only early days. Rogers and McKay appear to be being very transparent in regards to our list and intentions, but I get the feeling we'll make a play for someone who hasn't been mentioned.

Only an optimistic hunch at this stage!

It's a shame TMitch isn't looking at coming home.

Would take IanW's proposed hypothetical if he was:

ie Jaksh & 14 for pick 6
on trade 14 for Mitchell.

Effectively pick 6 for Jaksh & Mitchell.

Nice scenario. So #14 is a GWS compo selection?

When judd said said he's excited what's coming that did enough for us. Otherwise he wouldn't signed if knew something that we didn't. Good signs

and still have our second :)

And ... Go!
If Sydney were to get an end of first round pick (say 20-22) for Malceski leaving, and we were to get a 3rd for Waite (44), we could package pick 6 & 44 to Sydney for Mitchell, Membrey & 21?
We could then send 21 to GWS for Jaksch whilst keeping our original 2nd & 3rd round picks.

more that IanW mentioned that GWS would want more than 2nd rounder and they would likely source a pick in the low-mid teens. (14 was his nominated number)

GWS would then pacjkage #14 with Jaksh for #6.

Wishfull thinking on my part but #14 will net something decent either in the draft or trade.
