Future first?

We have more capital to get a deal done, but if Dunkley has decided on Brisbane they'll work something out with pick swapping etc I'd imagine.

Are Brisbane allowed to use a future first? As I said, they traded out a future first in 18/19 and 20 only using their first last year. Are they allowed to trade out a first again?

Nothing bar one article re Mitch.

Nothing from player, manager, port or WCE.

I’m sure his name has been mentioned behind closed doors. I’m sure WCE and Freo ask about numerous players every year and Mitch would be one of those. Port would be/is doing the same with the likes of Stephens, Rankine, Pickett, Lukosius, etc. hell the Dunkley chats likely started last year.

So I wouldn’t read too much into it. Mitch has to stay, is a star, must keep. And, if he requests a trade, we do everything to keep him. If he still wants to go, then we do what’s right by him and the club and get maximum value.

2 first round picks need to be made in a 4 year period. They can be form the same year if needed. So they need to use this years but can trade next years.

If Dunkley is to go to Brisbane, how are they going to get the deal done? Lions (as of today) have Pick 15, pick 33, pick 44 and pick 69. Combined points add up to 2135.

They will want pick Ashcroft at pick 1 requiring 3000 points (do that get a slight discount for F/S?) Any rate they are well short.

They traded away their first round pick in 2018,19,20.

McStay is an UFA meaning Brisbane won't get anything for him.

So how will Brisbane faciltate a Dunkley trade?
They own pick 16 and will likely want to move it given the bidding so 16 and a future first or second would get it done. If they went 16 and future 1st for Dunkley and 37 it would likely work.

My gut feel is Georgiades is gonna be a star, seems to have the right temperament, has the ability to be that real enigmatic marking forward.

His kicking in 21 was great, this year not so, but I'd be backing him in.

He's had a down year, but so did Connor and Marshall in seasons gone by. I'd be shattered to lose someone of his talent and calibre this early on....To me he seems an integral part of our future along with your Butters/Rozee/Bergmans.

But the need that to get Ashcroft who is a F/S and will likely go pick 1 or 2.

Pick 2 + Willie Rioli for pick 8 + George

Who says no?

Not sure where your data is coming from...

Year Round Pick Player
2018 1 21 Ely Smith
2019 1 22 Deven Robertson
2020 1 24 Blake Coleman

I don’t know, every interview Mitch has done when asked about leaving he shuts it down, says he is happy (and looks genuine).

And his manager a couple of weeks back said he is staying, don’t get how this is a story still. Just a media work up.

Don’t blame west coast for trying. Like us going for Pickett or JHF. Gotta ask the question
Because it gets reacts from Port fans.

Just on Georgiades, he's gone to the US with Boak, Rozee and co....I don't see him committing to something like that if he was considering an offseason move back to WA.

As other posters have said, it's a bit of a media beat up, no doubt WC are asking the question, as we are with Pickett.

So they will use this years pick 16 and whatever to get Dunkley and Ashcroft counts as their first round draft choice.

All that Brisbane need is a carload of low picks for points.
