Schache as a defender is a homeless man's Aliir. For balance we need a stopper (i.e. McKay) to allow Aliir to play his best role, not just 'Aliir again, but worse'.

You know, the key defender could be Josh Schache from the Bulldogs. 201cm, 24, out of contract at the end of the year, was turned into a defender by the Bulldogs during 2021 and they have to make room for Jones so he’s going to be cheap.

Just the sort of player we would target because when he pushes forward he would be able to kick goals.

His role reminds me of Watts down back

He's played 35/44 matches past 2 seasons. Plus his injuries this year have been impact injuries.

Carlton's cap is about to explode and they haven't achieved anything yet and could miss finals. They wouldn't be able to fit him and he would not be a priority.

If it was to happen, it allows us to focus heavily on drafting a mid with our first pick to “replace” Bergman’s potential.

Would be a great get, he's a really solid defender. We gave up pick 4 for Daryl Wakelin, can't overstate the need for a lockdown defender.

but 201cm or taller key defenders from bottom 8 teams include Frampton as well… lol

Having an actually big, lock down key defender (as apposed to out undersized key defenders) would be a massive improvement on our best 22.

Would make Aliir so much more dangerous as he’d never need to be sent to the best oppo key forward.
