OK Peeps, seasons over, time to get your thinking caps on. I would like to know you're thoughts on the below::

Untouchable's - The ones that will not even be spoken of, trade wise.
Keeper's - Will be retained, and only traded if we get a gem offer
Tradable's - Will be put on the table
Goneski's - Will get the dreaded tap on the shoulder.

Trade Possibility - Russell, Warnock (prefer to keep, see what MM thinks), maybe Ellard.
Gone - Kerr, Davies, Thornton, Bower. Possibly Joseph, Collins, Duigan, Curnow also depending on MM's opinion of them.

The rest seem all pretty safe.

I think we should trade Garlett while has has some currency. Our forward line has an imbalance towards smalls. Remove Garlett, add Cloke, and the overall balance is about right.

As for Lucas, I put him in the "Trade" category as I think he'll request one due to lack of opportunity. Would much rather keep him though, especially if new coach shows some faith.

Personally I'd definitely keep Duigan and Curnow. Collins not 100% sold on, but wouldn't be unhappy if we retained him. I think it will definitely come down to the new coach and his opinion of our players and who he thinks can fit into his game plan.

With all the talk of MM, I reckon Duigan would benefit from his style. Give him the same role every week & I think Duigan has a lot of potential. Much better last year but he has a lot of potential to be important down back.

I know a few of our tradables have little value but if we can send aplyer and upgrade a pick that would be a good thing IMO.

What are peoples thoughts on Simon White? Has been a ghost for 3 years & then comes in for 6? games & does relatively well! Great depth, meat & potatoes & unassuming. Should be retained but does he have any upside? do we persevere with a davies instead?

I would love to see what a new coach can do with Lucas & JR but fear it may be too late. (especially JR)

I'm not sure what role Curnow & Ellard will play with our future, both solid players but will go further & further down our list. Same could be said for Duigan, but if MM is coach i feel he will be made invaluable as the maxwell typecast.

TRADE BAIT- One of our ruckman Hammer or Knockers has to go! Garlett, Lucas, Ellard, Curnow,

Pretty much right, except Russel is a FA, so isn't so much a "tradable" as a "walker". Would also have Rowe as a "Downgradable" considering I can't see him play much next year, and I think the AFL would allow him to be moved to a Rookie spot on compasionate grounds (cancer). Fully support him (!!!!) but frees up a spot on our senior list (Basically swap him for Casboult)

I would have thought it very doubtful. Maintained a very high level again this year...actually marginally increased his disposals and tackles. No small sweeping defenders who can hold a candle to him currently in development, no physical signs that the end is nigh...certainly not just going through the motions. Why so certain AD?

I could go either way on Collins, Ellard, Curnow and White. I would risk letting Curnow and White go so we can pick them in the rookie draft again. Curnow has played his role to earn his spot, but he really needs to show Carrazzo-like improvement with his disposal and decision making to be a player.

Think the new coach might pull a surprise and keep a Davies, Collins, O'Keeffe or Russell. Probably the cheapest depth player if we get Cloke. Joseph and Ellard are contracted. Know of a media commentator who stuck by Toovey whilst Collingwood supporters called for the defender's head.

I've been thinking this too, just the look on his face after the GC loss gave me a hint.

I think the look was more his desire to win a premiership with him closer to the end of his career than beginning... the GC lost sealed us not making finals hence a waste of a season and no chance this year for a premiership.

I really like him, but he seems to make at least absolutely shocking decision per game.

Against the Suns he inexplicably turned back towards the boundary and into two tacklers, and against the Saints his handpass to the opposition effectively ended the game.

That being said, I'd persist with him. He's a good size, and apart from his occasional howler, generally makes ok decisions.

I actually think he'll win the B&F. That won't be any impediment to a new boss swinging the changes.
