If we do get MM, which seems highly likely, I think that Collins is one of the players who can particularly blossom under Mick's instruction. Could perhaps play the Macaffer role of 2010, an unassuming lead up half forward with good hands who can turn and go. Continuity is all that AC needs in my opinion.

Have liked White in his return to the side: he acts as a good insurance policy either up forward or down back. Should keep him knowing our luck with injuries. Not liking the silence on the Watson contract front either...

Still think Knockers may go for the right offer, but we re-signed him so he had more currency. Maybe to the Saints? Filth? One of Curnow and Ellard could be tradeable as well.

Russell, Bower and Thornton are certain goners. Davies and Kerr seem likely also, with Heyne definitely not re-rookied.

McLean needs to stay clearly. Hopefully ROK as well.

Untouchable's - Murphy, Robinson, Henderson, Yarran, Betts, Bell, Carrazzo, Kreuzer, Mclean, Mitchell, McInnes, Scotland, Tuohy, Judd, Jamison, Laidler, Buckley,

Keeper's - Walker, Simpson (complete inability to kick on his right), Garlett, Gibbs, Hampson, Casboult, McCarthy, White, Armfield, Duigan, Watson,

Tradable's - Lucas (needs to develop more of an inside game to move forward), Warnock (best pure ruckman, poor marking around the ground), Collins, Joseph (contracted, otherwise gone), Ellard (not up to AFL level), O'Keefe

Goneski's - Kerr, Bower, Davies, Russell (FA), Curnow (no skills, horrible decision making)

Keeper's - Walker, Garlett, Casboult, McCarthy, White, Armfield, Duigan, Watson, Ellard, Collins, Bootsma, McInnes, Rowe, Warnock (yes I have him in 2 spots), O'Keefe, Bell, Kerr, Heyne, Dale, Carter, Lodge, Bray

Tradable's - Hampson, Warnock, Gibbs, Lucas, Joseph, Garlett if he doesn't pull his finger out (yes in 2 spots)

Goneski's - Bower, Davies, Russell, Curnow, Thornton

Hope I didn't leave anyone out, obviously I've kept all the rookies

Even if he wins the JN medal??
I think that Scotland will be signed up for a 1 year contract as a player/coach and then at the end of that contract moved sideways into a development coaching role at the Bullants. Then whoever the next coach is can start grooming Lucas to be Scotlands replacement and he can spend more time working with the Carlton kids out at the bullants towards the end of the year.

I hope MM & Co start weeding out players with crap kicking skills (we have a lot to choose from) and shocking decision making. Soft players won't get a game and might want to leave which is also good news.

Trade - Garlett, Hampson
Delist - Russell, Bower, Curnow, Joseph etc

Might take a year or 2 to get a ruthless disciplined team.

Surely Curnow's not going anywhere.

All of the following go before Curnow for mine:
Kerr
Davies
Thornton (not that I really want him to go tbh)
Russell
Joseph
Ellard (again, don't really want to see him go, but Curnow over Ellard for me. Just.)
Bower

That's more than enough people to de-list for one season.

Also hope O'Keefe gets more time. Adds more to the team than Joseph or Ellard imo.

That isnt how it works...

Mick is supposed to come in, wave his magic wand and sprinkle some magic fairy dust around and all of a sudden everyone who gets kept at the club becomes hard at it and skillful footballers who will, on Mick's back, take us to a flag next year... and the year after and the year after that. Then Mick will retire from football as the Carlton coach of the 21st century!

At least thats what we have been lead to believe by those who have been pushing for Ratts sacking and the hiring of Malthouse.

Scotland will certainly be asked to retire. Unfair, but that's what new coaches do to old players.
Whilst I respect your right to an opinion. In my opinion, not a chance, no way, never on this earth. One of very, very few who didn't have a disappointing season. A leader around the club.

Isn't Russell unrestricted? So he can just walk? Would love to see O'Keeffe given a real crack, 3-5 games in a row, a la McLean. Can't expect someone to get 15 minutes here, dropped best in VFL, promoted-sub, dropped and then 1 full game in a dead rubber. Plenty should go before ROK, however I feel he is in danger.

Bower, Joesph, Kerr, Heyne, Carter, Russell gone.
Thornton MAY get a lifeline, seeing as Ratten must of either hated him or seen something in training that we didn't. Otherwise felt he was very dtiff not to get a few more games.

Trade, Lucas, Warnock, Garlett on table. See what's on offer.

Collins and Duigan must stay. Collins is still young and has had a few injuries another year then decide. Curnow, 50/50 on Ed. Impressed in last game, but overall not overly impressed.

MUST KEEP McLean and Scotland.

Chase, I feel Shannon Byrnes might be a decent add. If we offload Garlett.

not sure why we would offload garlett?
an off season makes people forget true
like how the brock would never turn his career around yea?

Keepers
Armfield, Betts, Bootsma, Buckley, Carrazzo, Casboult, Curnow, Duigan, Garlett, Gibbs, Hampson, Henderson, Jamison, Judd, Kreuzer, Laidler, McCarthy, McInness, McLean, Mitchell, Murphy, O'Keeffe, Robinson, Rowe, Scotland, Simpson, Touhy, Waite, Walker, Watson, White, Yarran, Bell, Dale.

Trade, if not keep
Collins, Ellard, Warnock, Lucas (though would rather we keep him).

Trade, if not delist
Bower, Joseph, Russell, Thornton.

Delist, unlikely no trade value
Davies, Kerr.

Not Sure
Bray, Carter, Heyne, Lodge.

There will be some handy players cut this year but considering the salery cap, our poor season and the draft quality I think that a few players who we have had for a fair while will go. A lot aught to find places with other clubs though. I feel Warnock will be our trade bait and we should trade him but they are going to push us to get Hampson I feel. If Cloke arrives, expect players like Thornton and Russell who have higher contracts to be gone.

OK Peeps, seasons over, time to get your thinking caps on. I would like to know you're thoughts on the below::

Untouchable's - The ones that will not even be spoken of, trade wise.
Keeper's - Will be retained, and only traded if we get a gem offer
Tradable's - Will be put on the table
Goneski's - Will get the dreaded tap on the shoulder.

No, sorry Toad, love your work.

Gone for me are: Davies, Kerr, Russell, Bower, Thornton.
Looking over their shoulder: White, Joseph, Ellard, Lucas (but maybe a trade), Collins, Curnow

Duigan and Garlett should be safe I think.
Not sure why ROK keeps getting a mention; he is on the rookie list. Also in my opinion has a very complete skill set to be a neat player at this level. Also he is one of about three guys on our list who can actually kick it.

Would be ok with letting go - Russell, Bower, Thornton, Joseph, Davies

If we could get overs, I could trade - Warnock, Gibbs, Garlett, Curnow
(However i fear that any of these players at other clubs, may all of a sudden start playing out their respective arses).

Anyone think Walker might be offered up as bait.

He's valuable, but seems to be bit of a showboat at times, and wouldn't be hard to replace with the emergence of a few of our kids. Plus clears up some significant cap space.

I don't like the idea, but think he might be the bloke who the example is made of.

Apostrophe's
Subtle. BF is saying plurals don't require apostrophes. Unless it's this one:

Not sure why people are keen to get rid of lil jeffy who has averaged 40 goals a season over the last 3 years.

Who are we going to replace him with?

Personally I think he will get even better with a more mature forward line and we would be silly to trade him. Same goes for Tex Walker who missed half the year with injury.

Both of these players need to be told to stop trying to make the highlights reel, and let the scoreboard do the talking.

Goneski's - Rowe

 Would be an absolute low class move.

Expect him to come good next year and demonstrate why he was drafted.

Am I the only one who thinks he should be moved onto the Rookie list (not delisted) ??? I would have thought it would be the best place for him, allowing him to recover without the pressure of being on the Senior list, and he would still have a chance of playing in 2012 if he recovers well enough and we have some injuries (which almost always seems to be the case by the end of the year)

No, you're not entirely alone. It really depends on where the club believes he is at. With Casboult and Mitchell set to be ready to play 15+ games between them unless he's 100% it may make sense to have him as a mature aged rookie. It also depends on how much it would hurt his wallet - something he does not deserve.
